Couldn't agree more. Everything you can do in disableton is in logic and cubase, and if it's not "fast" enough then it's the user that has a problem, not the program. It's all about the workflow shortcuts and key commands ;)

I didn't say its program error. It is the user that's in question here. Ableton has proven to have a quicker workflow than the other DAWs, hotkeys or not. Solid users of Ableton will also tell you the same. With that said, having a faster workflow does mean its been cut down in other areas. Can't have everything at the same time I guess...

Why can't we take the best features from all of the DAWs and put them into one super DAW?

Who has proven? Where is the study?

Simply not true. Ableton is faster at certain things like times stretching and warping, so yes, if you're doing that all day then it may be faster, but EDM relies heavily on automation and FX and it's clearly not up to it when it comes to automation. Logic is so much more advanced when it comes to in depth audio and midi editing. , I don't think ableton even has a score editor. And what about integrating external instruments? Logic and cubase are leagues ahead. I know some logic and cubase users that would make your head spin.

I could go on but the bottom line is there is no faster as such by any patform. Just how good you are at knowing your program and how good you are at using them.

Most people that switch to Ableton switch because of its workflow and ability of originality. At least from the people I know. Besides, any DAW is good for EDM. There are pros using Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, whatever...doesn't really matter, I just find the workflow of Ableton much faster.

I have to agree that it beats anything in terms on the first 10-15% of time spent getting ideas down, but I have templates set up in Cubase for that anyway, and as I know it inside out it takes me seconds to get ideas down now. I think there are things that Live is excellent at, but not only have they totally skipped the idea of actually mixing those ideas afterwards but they also appear to have totally failed on the stability front too. I've got a copy of Live Lite on my DAW, and not once have I tried to use it where it hasn't crapped out on me for one reason or another. I guess I just don't take it seriously as a DAW.

Early versions of 8 were a disaster.

I tried Studio One and it crashed on me twice.

I think I've give Reaper a try. Cubase looks good, but its 450.
