Millennials could be dragging down the housing market, and--in effect--the national economy.

Yes, let's blame it on the latest generation who have become smart enough to not get robbed by a rigged system that only benefits the wealthy. Damn meddling kids.

I think this comment below the article says it all:

quote:
When sensible people do the right thing in hard times and cut back their spending, especially that which requires going into debt, then they are vilified for not helping the economy grow.

America, doing things ass backward since 1980

Journalists make bad economists.

actually you should be saving during good times and spending during bad. Same with government, during bad times they should spending more on welfare programs to help the people, and saving for these moments during the good times. It lets us have a more balanced economy then having huge fluctuations like we do. We actually all do things ass backwards and never learn from our past.

I know I'm touching a little on keynesianisim and if you're a true capitalist you're probably going to start ting on my beliefs. However, In theory I believe it to be quite true.
zyklon-jay
this is why i'm glad i pay for everything with coke.

Bad times = individuals should spend less/save more, government should spend more

Good times = individuals should spend (and save intelligently) and government should spend more (but cut back where it can).

Things can always improve and government spending is the way to do it if your population isn't a bunch of wads like it is in the US.
