the only things i can think about that are tax free here are healthy food staple items, lottery winnings, inheritances ( you harper!:D), and happy endings from illegal Chinese sex workers.

you do realize different taxes go to different things, right ;) sales tax goes somewhere completely different then income tax

Yes, and it varies state to state in the US, and county to county.

My opinion is the same for federal taxes levied on businesses in my locality. The state taxes are better serving because they directly affect where I live, where as we are donor state in terms of all federal tax money the amount of federal aide we get is below what we contribute. Our tax dollars go to clean up ty states like Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama that refuse to tax themselves enough to provide for themselves, and constantly are in need of federal aide, despite always electing people that try and destroy any use that federal aide might have in other states far more deserving than them.

For Canadians it is nothing. Try 32% of your salary...it goes up to 50%.

subtract 32% from 50 000 (which is not much money). That doesn't include unemployment insurance, health insurance, and retirement fund (obligatory).

You get far more than people in the US get though for their money.

The US ranks in the bottom half of the G20 in terms of government spending per person.

Who needs Government spending when they can get their shelter, food, income, insurance, etc. from their parents?

debatable.

it can take up to a year to wait for certain surgical procedures, and in some parts of the country there is such a shortage of medical staff that a family physician is out of the question for a big chunk of canadians...which leads to tier health care. (a family dr will give you a check up, have your history always on hand, making it much easier for prevention diagnostics. i read this somewhere this week, i'll try and find the link.)

what is it exactly that we get again nou? I don't see it. Unless it is idiot students protesting about high tuition fees when they only pay 1500 0f the 11 500$ per year it costs per student. They cry, when some hard working low wage earner can't go to school but is paying for them.

i hate socialism with a passion...and stop comparing us with the USA. The fiscally responsible countries really hate being compared to a dead fish in the water.

I was stating that paying sales tax is paying tax, in fact its a fairly regressive tax system in that it is not based on income and disproportionately affects people of lower income because they pay the same rate on goods that people who make a lot more than they do pay as well.

Oh my god, I am well the aware, you just routinely offer so very little insight, addressing you with any seriousness cannot possibly weigh against the value of mocking you.
