Same thing happened in March 2010 for Digweed, the Dreamworks pre-event that night went until 11:30 though. Didn't see comments about anyone getting a refund, though they did offer comp tix for a future event (I was out of town then during WMC weekend, so couldn't use them, blah)...here's the event review thread from that night:

IMPORTANT TICKET PURCHASE INFORMATION
Ticket(s) purchased via this website may be claimed at the WILL CALL desk at AVALON only on the night of the event. Please bring the credit card used to purchase the ticket(s) along with a valid PICTURE ID documenting that you and your guest(s) are at least 21 years of age. TICKETS MUST BE CLAIMED BY 11PM to guarantee IMMEDIATE ADMISSION. We will hold space for everyone who claims their ticket(s) before 11PM.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 11PM?
After 11PM, we can no longer limit capacity for you and we will start admitting general admission guests up to our capacity. If you arrive after AVALON has reached capacity, you will be given PRIORITY ADMISSION.
WHAT IS PRIORITY ADMISSION?
Once Avalon reaches capacity, those holding ticket(s) will be admitted before those in the general admission or guest list lines, but you must wait for people already admitted to leave the club to reestablish available capacity.
WHAT IF TICKETS FOR A SPECIFIC EVENT ARE SOLD OUT?
We only sell 50% of our capacity in advance for each event. If you do not have a ticket, we strongly suggest arriving by 10PM for your best chances of getting in.
NO REFUNDS. All sales are final and you must agree to all the terms as outlined above and in the Terms of Purchase agreement on this form."
So immediate admission SHOULD be given to those arriving with will call tix prior to 11 p.m. Since the other event ends at 10 p.m., they may not even be letting people in by 11 p.m. though...this should be another interesting night! |

ya they conveniently comped out their night which was going up against the first night insomniac was using the music box with eddie halliwell... the turnout for eddie was extremely poor due to this. |

Realisticly:
Previous event ends at 10pm
They take 1/2 an hour to let everyone out
They need 1/2 to clean the main floor. During this time (10:30-11) the main floor is closed and:
- they let presales through the right entrance to the patio upstairs
- they let guest list through the left entrance to the lobby
- they let $$$ customers to the lobby
Chances are by 11:30 the main floor is full. Which means:
- presales get in but after 11:30 get stuck upstairs
- guest list moves super slow after 10:45 and noone gets in
- $$$ customers get in same as presales but pay full price
Makes sense? |

typically where there is a late opening door, they extend the time you can get in via the discount list.
Giant i don't think is officially offering a discount one for this event. i've seen that 6am is at least signing people up... i can ask someone i know there what's up.
what list are they on? |
