Add up the cost of all of those weekends
EZOO about $350 for tickets $150-200 misc stuff ($550)
EDC about $100 for tickets $100-200 misc stuff ($300)
SENSATION about $150 for tickets $100-$200 misc stuff ($350)
Misc stuff is like alcohol, substances, traveling, all the misc stuff that probably would go into that weekend.
That's almost $1200 in local parties..

Wish someone had slapped me around and told me that sooner. Just went to Ibiza for the first time this July, never want to go to the big parties in NYC again.

i think you're gettin a lil extreme now lol
prices have jumped a lil bit with ezoo i will admit, but i still feel it's better than nothing and have 13 threads a year of people complaining saying how they wish nyc had a big festival
sensation tho i will agree is def outdated, shoulda came to the states years ago

| Sure, for the cost of all of them you could take an amazing trip oversea's but that's not what people want. People want to party often, not a once a summer trip. Sure as hell beats having nothing! |

The key words here are 'cost of a flight' - that's not what it costs to party in Ibiza. |

Just came back from Nature One festival in Germany , 70 euros for a two day festival, 60 euros for two nights in a hotel, maybe like 120 euros for drinks and food (beer was 3-4 euros, food pretty much the same)
And had more fun than any of the festivals here in the new continent.
Pretty much done with festivals or bigger events here in US, don't see the point of my wallet being raped every time I want to have fun.

Another way to look at this is holy crap, the price of a plane ticket to Ibiza is so expensive, I can go to three festivals for that.
And yes, Ibiza and European festivals > American festivals. Duh, common knowledge. I don't think anyone is arguing that.
But not everyone can afford to zip off to Europe (especially Ibiza), and not everyone has a large amount of vacation days. So those people (including myself) go to local festivals. I do not have the money laying around to go to Richie's Enter party in Ibiza, so I will gladly take his Enter stage at EDC NY.
EarnYourKeep, I think it's ridiculous that just because you don't like the festivals in NY, you think they shouldn't exist. Plenty of people DO like the festivals here.
And yes Neonbeats, we get it, you have money. |
