Most of the set was recorded though! Here it is (although missing the first 10 minutes)...

Did you do what I always do and forget to turn your recorder on, only to realize it 10 minutes in? If you watch me DJing, I'm sure you've seen my lip the words "GOD DAMNIT" about 10-20 minutes into each set when I realized I forgot to start recording :haha:

I talked to one of the coworkers that went to made in america festival in philly.

She complained about the exact same thing with the kids.

Nah, it's a recording of someone tuned into Sirius XM's live broadcast.. Not sure if Sirius started their broadcasting late into my set, or if the recorder did. Gonna find out today though and post the full set if I can get a hold of it.

I had fun.

Went Saturday and stayed in the Sunday School tent nearly the entire day, with the exception of a little diversion to SVD, who started of banging, then got too "cheesey" for me.

Paco, Sasha and Liebing all brought the goods, and I was pleased that each of their sets offered up something a little different. Kept me on my toes (and unfortunately on my sprained ankle, which I chose to ignore the pain all day and am now paying for it in the worst way!) :( :( I saw the last 15 minutes of MJC and she was good as expected, but its hard to judge on 15 minutes. I'm pissed that I missed her, but unfortunately, I failed to pay attention to set times when I grabbed a beer and a seat with friends to spare my poor ankle for a bit.

As per "Generation Neon": Did anyone expect any different? Maybe because I listened to more trance last year, I experienced this awful trend last year on full blast as well. My eyes were burning after last year, and it was even worse this year (minus the fact that, hiding in Sunday School at least kept me away from it a bit more).

We arent going to change it, its just another perpetual round of "adults hating kid trends changing music and fashion, while the kids roll their eyes at our being lame in not understanding their 'really rad generation.'" We are now our parents, even at the ripe age of late-20-somethings LOL. IMO I am way more bummed about the shift in music trends than the neon. Maybe thats WHY the kids take so many drugs: because you cant listen to that isht sober, lets be real!

That being said: WTF at the little kids rolling their asses off?? There were a couple instances of seeing kids NO MORE than age 13-14 with their "faces melting off" as they now call it. I WANTED TO VOMIT. I saw a girl, probably about 15 years old, with her eyes rolling in the back of her head and 3 of her friends propping her up because she was not capable of standing on her own. She was completely incapacitated. I would like to point out that this was at 2pm!!! If Made is going to make this an all-ages event, they need to be a little more cautious with the tweenies taking drugs, holy !! NOT COOL.

:whip: :(

That being said, I cant promise any future attendance at this event unless my dream lineup comes along. The vibe outside of Sunday School has just become too weird and creepy.

Might I add that Made did a fantastic job in the actual organization aspect: NO lines for anything, plethora of food and drink options, bathrooms, etc. Great work there!

When did this forum change from Tranceaddict to Technoaddict?

Last year was killer but this year, mainly due to the bookings, wasn't as fun. Most of you are right. The infestation of kids was incredibly annoying - mainly IMO because they have NO IDEA how to act and how to respect the dance floor. The problem is the new batch of kids are growing up with much edgier types of electronic music... there's very little progression in electro and even less in "bass music". Club drugs were made for a journey... for those willing to invest in some kind of progressive set. Now it's a bunch of doped up kids looking like pin balls in a pin ball machine. There's no more underground either - where I learned all about the scene. It's all just festival circuits.

I'm also a little worried about the incredible lack of security and cop presence there. It was wild, especially since I've traveled a lot and have seen what it's like in other states. Don't get me wrong... I LOVED the lack of lines! LOVE LOVE LOVE that. But I saw drugs EVERYWHERE. Walking out in front of the fu*king entrance on Saturday (with the bright lights) I saw a big bag of drugs on the floor! My concern with all this is it's only a matter of time when something really bad goes down (IE overdose death). Remember the "Rave Act"? Remember the that went down in Cali (and elsewhere)? We're ALL gonna get fu*ked soon.

But anyway... It is what it is. So what can we do. Mostly I'm happy the scene is growing in the way's it is. Commercialism here we come! I think overall MADE succeeded and as someone who is a tad bit anti Insomniac... I'm a happy camper.

I would say that maybe we're the partypoopers, getting old and what not......

But we're not!!!! This generation goes to all these overpriced 3-4 hour parties/concerts, while we're at Blk Market for 10-16 hours. The Avicii show at Radio City, the Swedish House Mafia MEGASPECTACULAR at MSG that lasted all of 3 hours. These aren't "crazy" parties. Unfortunately, their lack of expectations as a collective fanbase is lowering the standards/bar, jacking up the prices tenfold, ting on the quality.

In this type of climate, why WOULD someone like Armin even WANT to go play a 6+ hour set somewhere when he can get paid $150,000 to play for one?? And the kids are eating all this up. Us complaining about a lot of 14 year olds wearing neon is more about all the residual that came with this shift, and less about their neon. It's just the only thing we have to identify them.

great post.
i always knew something ticked me off from this "neon" crowd but i could never put it together. don't get me wrong, i am not attacking the attire. i love the attire. i don't mind the bright neons and what not. its who actually wears it. it the young kids. they are the problem. their lack of respect of space. nothing is more annoying then listen to some boring music and have this young kid push you or elbow you as they try to impress their high-school hottie.

i realize that these kids are annoying when i went in detroid for DEMF. on Saturdat the first day of the festival. there were no "Neon" kids. i had a blast. space everywhere. mature people. no alchohol spillage. it was like i was in early ultra's but with more underground sounds. it was amazing. i felt like it was the best festival i have ever been too. then Sunday came with the most popular djs on the line up and the flock of younger infested the place. i mean they were everywhere. no one older then 17 for sure. it was the worst day of the festival for me. i had yet to understand i was not enjoying this day because of these young lings. i was confused that day. why did i love Saturday (the first day) so much but i was hating it today (Sunday). Music quality did not change. i was not in red-bull stage. i was no where near any djs that brings this crowd. i was puzzled. Only on the third day i realized it was this little kids that were buggin me. I realized this because on Monday (the last day) there were half as many young crowd. and i was starting to have fun again. then the closing show came and pow. everyone was in the field. then it hit me. I had not noticed it before but this kids kept pushing me and i had to keep changing spots. making it hard for me to enjoy the experience as i was too worried i would get a broken nose from them. not to mention annoyed.

i want to understand that they are young and don't understand, but i can't. i was young too when i fist got to into this. but i did not go full hand swinging and loud remarks on every song. i was respectful. Do you know why? becuase i didn't just walk into the scene. i was invited by some one. i got educated before i even stepped into an event. So the blame lies on the easy access of parties now. one can just show up and join it. there is no network.no heads ups.

okay i should not use the "neon" reference. i love see that attire. i will start to refer to them as "younglings" wich is the most accurate description of who i am trying to reference : )
