I used to hate "Out of The Blue"

I don't know why, but for the longest time I hated that song. I thought it was highly overrated, and the sound was too fluffy for me to grasp my mind around at the time.
This was like 2 years ago.
However recently I've grown to like it more. I was making a "fluffy" Trance mix and decided to add this song in the mix at 132 BPM. A slower beat than the usual 140 BPM.
It's come to my attention now that it's quite a catchy track. I guess one could say this some brings "happiness" into the conscious state of mind.
How about you guys?
You ever heard a song you hated at first, but then grew to love it later on? |

| Does ironic enjoyment count in this? 'Cause I'm finding such is the case with early '00s vocal trance.:nervous: |

Out Of The Blue is, of course, a very silly track. What redeems it is that it knows it's silly, and as such manages to be fun when most similar Dutch schlock from the same era merely ended up being ridiculous.
The number of tracks I started out disliking and then grew to love is too long to list. There have been whole albums that fit the bill. |

Gimme a break gramps! I was only in 2nd grade when you registered on this forum. That means I was only like 8 or 9 years old when you were listening to Out of The Blue :P

Heh heh, I agree. It is fluffy. It is silly. Especially coming from me who hated it at first, I remember I used to be like "Ugh God this reminds me of Unicorns that people always make fun of. Give me Suburban Train instead."
But yeah I like this song now. Probably most of TA users felt the same as well! |

| I think I forced myself to like it, as everyone else seemed to go mad for it. Now it just makes my ears hurt. |

I was 25 when I had it on Ferry's first Trance Nation compilation. I can't remember it at all as being described here, but that wouldn't be the first and last time. I remember it as awesome.
I like the System F - Out Of The Blue 2010 (Akira Kayosa Remix) a lot, but you shouldn't listen too close to the speakers...
I didn't really like Speedy J - Pullover at first, although it was popular, but the Calvin Rotane Mix had the little add I needed to really like it. |

well this is the main reason why it's sucessful, it's a good mood track that would do well even in no trance head parties. It's simplistic as though. |

| i found that track underscored the end of a decade. The production was great, the melody is still probably one of the catchiest trance hooks of all time and it gave a sense of closing. You couldn't play that track and play something else. It was and is the ultimate closing track for a big festival. |

| Definitely true about that melody. I can go years without listening to it and yet whenever someone mentions it the melody comes immediately to mind. |
