really good effort i say i tried dab and found it to hard to produce so well done to you sir

Dude this is excellent.
Let me get niggles out the way first.
The snare is bugging me. I think it needs to be more traditionally DnB in character with a bit more of that 909 slap to it.
The vocals aren't loud enough, and they fight with the piano in that break bit. Have one after the other, not at the same time.
Other than that, it's just win. Power bass. Made me move.

Cheers Gents, this is a first draft, and my main intention is to add some glitchy synth and nasty up to date bass lines popping up here n there so it has more interest - would you'all agree I should do that?
I will make vocal louder and use some chopped bits from the start so it has more interest.
I don't want to over produce it but I worry it's too boring as is.
Tehlord I'm committed to the snare because I wanted all the drums out the way up front so I made about 7 loops and then turned em all into audio, so unfortunately no tunring back! I did this so I moved fast and got stuff done otherwise I end up endlessly tweeking. I had to shut down NERVE (I used to programme the drums with) once this was done because it's quite glichy with cubase5.

You could probably just layer in a 909 or something just to get that ttsshhh
Love this track dude, really.

very good track, piano seems a bit unnatural. Apart from that excellent. I'd buy it.

Damn, I quite liked the piano - oh well that's committed to audio now too, lol! I don't mind if it's not so natural, as I always knew it would never hold up to a real recording or that of something like East / West, but hey ho. Thanks for the compliment.
TEHLORD - I will see 'bout that snare - I think you mean like a classic 808 small snare with lots of attack snap. Thanks for the compliment.

You'll always get people telling you what they don't like about a track, so don't worry about it. And I mean both of us :p
It's a great track, job done!

This was the post for draft 2 which is now superceded.

I've only gotten to hear draft 2 and have to say, it's quite brilliant. Nice work on this. Really love the vocals, too.

Cheers to u the zilker king (I've had a beer or 2)! I'm sorta influenced by your syncopated drums if I'm honest.

Wow, I think you may have found your true niche, Richard. This is my favorite track from you. Love the vocals, drums (yup, even the snare), and bass. Just a really cool groove that sets a nice mood. I'll keep an eye out for updates.
