Who cares if it sounds like crap afterwards. Nobody cares anymore anyway.

Why do you n00bs keep assuming that you need certain monitors in order to produce great mixes? I could easily produce a flawless mix on speakers if I knew them well. That's all that matters. But all you guys keep doing is perpetually obsessing over how everyone needs Yamaha Hs80ms or whatever in order to produce good mixes. This just goes to demonstrate your incredible lack of intelligence. It's quite troubling to be honest.

I agree anyone could produce solid mixes on the Yamahas. I'm just sayin they're so flat they made producing music boring to me.

Right, because accurate response and accurate mixing pales in comparison to a wicked, colored sound. As long as you're having fun, I guess. Reading you go on about speakers though, not so much.

edit: After reading more of your diddle-daddle, I decided I should mention this: I guarantee that I can mix better on my cans than on any speakers you will ever own, "noob". All you are doing is re-positioning your ridiculous dribble with the information we provide so you can appear to know what the you are talking about.

No, you can't.

I'm a mix engineer. If you can't hear detail due to poor speaker performance you can't mix to the best of your abilities.

Now if they're good, but flawed speakers (like adam's which are a tad too bright, or HR824 where you know there's a scoop at 200hz and the image and sweetspot is deceptively wide, or B&W 802's where the scoop is at 250 and the bass a little extended) you can adjust to compensate, thus achieve a good mix, but "crap" speakers don't let you hear what you need to in the first place so how are you mean to adjust.

That's the biggest problem with KRK's (aside from not one of them being flat), they have detail and terrible transient response.

You may not like certain monitors because they sound flat and dead, but I'd prefer that over hearing my mix sound artificially great only to have a reality check later on anything that does't do the same fake magic.

Is the most rational thing writed in this thread.

It's a given that you need to know your speakers well. It's an axiom among people here who actually know what they're talking about.

Well said.

It's kind of like knowing how to hold a pen if you want to write something.

Learn to read.

First, I pointed out the best part of each pair of monitors, and then I pointed out the flaws in each set of monitors. I was letting the OP know what to expect since they're buying a pair.

Then, everyone incorrectly assumed I was saying that Hs80ms were not as good as KRK. Wrong. I was simply saying that they're both good, and I prefer the KRKs.

Then, I realized that the majority of people posting here can't seem to understand simple English, and that they seemed to just be sayin, "OMGZORZ, Hs80ms 4 life!!". So I felt the need to tell them, "Hey, just know your monitors well and stop worrying so much".

It's quite sad that all the grown men weren't able to understand that. I had better reading comprehension in kindergarten.

Just sayin
