And as been said before: Mara Jade. For some reason, when I did get around to reading the Timothy Zahn books, I always pictured Jeri Ryan as a good choice for Mara Jade.

In any case, more Star Wars is fine with me. Disney definitely has the means to hire the right people, and I too hope they hire people familiar with the expanded universe. I want to see scenes from Luke's Jedi Academy on Yavin, and I want to see him fall to the dark side (he force gripped a Gamorrean to death and wore black in Jabba's Palace... cmon, you saw it coming). Leia ought to learn the force as it's in her blood, but introducing Mara Jade would be ing awesome, too. |
Luke will never fall to the dark side. Force choke is a dark side power but even a jedi can use it and there are black/grey jedi robes in expanded universe. |

It will def. attract Non-Star Wars aficionados.On the other hand, I must say I did enjoy J.J Abrams' 'Super 8'. |

The EU is what I was referring to, and I guess in one Dark Horse series, Luke does indeed succumb to the dark side (if only temporarily) after Palpatine is resurrected:

But I haven't read it, if you couldn't tell. |

This. I didn't expect much going into Super 8 but it turned out to be a really well put together movie. Or maybe it's just cause I watched the most recent X-Men movie half an hour before I watched it. I'm pretty sure it was the former though... |

Lucas will apparently be a "creative consultant", so he's definitely going to be in the way.
That being said, he couldn't have gone to a better company with this.
Now if only he would also give back the IPs of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle to their creators...

Firstly, I am sending you copius amounts of man love to/at you for even mentioning Monkey Island and DOTT.
However, Pirate of the Caribbean WAS a complete rip off on Monkey Island so Disney has already raped our childhood quite enough, without Lucas giving assistance.
Also, what the was lucas thinking with Indiana Jones 4? Why the did he not do Fate of Atlantis and the fourth film?
Back OT, there's two rumors now:
1, new film is going to center around the yonger years of Yoda.

2, Will center around young years of Han Solo and Boba Fett;
