Regarding Lion, I took my HD in to get replaced and the idiots at the Apple Store upgraded my OS for me, so I have been using it and I can confirm it is in fact a piece of . In fact I will likely be downgrading to 10.6.8 in the near future.
There was a MAJOR interface glitch that was fixed in 9.1.8., however, it didn't improve any other performance issues, only fixed that critical bug. So it was pointless. Lion itself is still very poor performance wise.
As of right now, Snow Leopard 10.6.8 is still accepted to be the most stable OS to run with Logic 9.
One thing I would speculate is that these performance issues w/ Logic 9 and Lion likely don't exist if you were to pick up a brand new Mac from the Apple store though. |
Are you able to get them install a different OS? I would do this if possible.
And wrong on your last point. I own a brand new macbook pro with retina display. I've had it for four months. It does not work right. I use it as a paper weight and my desktop as a proper producing machine. Desktop is a PC fyi. At least you can count on PCs always working right as long as you're not computer illiterate. |

Well, actually, Logic does work OK on Lion but even the pro team admitted that certain bugs they thought had been addressed in the last update did not work in Lion.
So even though Logic does run OK on Lion, it runs perfectly on Snow Leopard.
Also, Snow Leopard is actually more efficient than Mountain Lion for CPU intensive tasks such as audio production, so if your primary function is to run logic, then you better do a nice fresh install of Leopard. |
yes, you confirm my suspicions... 10.6.8 for life |

They've announced that there will be a new Mac Pro line. They invested time and money putting Logic into the app store at a lower price (I assume to build the user base even further) and didn't they recently buy that Redmatica company?
I strongly suspect rumours of Logics demise is a little bit bunkum. |

Did you even read the thread?
Also- Jobs will have personally approved every product Apple releases for at least the next few years. You're delusional if you think all of Apple's latest decisions were made without his input after his death.
Jobs wasn't Apple. He was an innovator and a smart man but Apple is as good as it ever was. |

| My hackintosh is still running 10.5.8. No issues as far as audio production goes :) |

Who cares if they're still going to have a new Mac Pro or even Logic Pro 10.
The whole point is that Apple barely cares about professional users, and their latest OS does not work correctly for professional users. It's hardly functional if you start pushing the CPU. If you're just browsing Facebook it's great though. |

I actually own legit software. And notice that other people here agreed with me - which almost never happens on any other topic. I think your posts just indicate that you suck at producing edm and have no idea what you're doing. |
