Or don't get a laptop wiith it.

And you don't get the real estate because the screen is small. It doesn't matter what the resolution is. Your eyes don't have an optical zoom. Unless you place your forehead on the screen , higher resolution o laptop screens is kinda pointless.

Unless of course it's retina which just means it's higher resolution and more pleasing to the eye ;)

Come on. You can't actually be pissy that display technology is getting better and that Apple is the forerunner. Every computer is going to have a retina display within the next few years.

If I do graphic design i would be using a mac pro , a quadro 4000 and 2 27 inch apple displays. I wouldn't be ing about on a laptop. So no, graphics really don't matter especially when most apps don't take advantage of it. And if you play video games, well you are a ing loser. So ya, i really don't get where you are coming from.

Technology is fine. Making small screens have higher resolution is not my idea of cool technology. Thunderbolt was cool technology. Retina display is ing stupid unless it is applied to a 27 inch display.

I forgot that you live in a world where fun doesn't exist. :haha:

And you're definitely wrong about graphic designers not using laptops.

ones that make a living. Their laptop is about the equivalent of my ipod. A referencing tool.

I also fail to see the point of Retina resolution on a small screen.

Especially when it's used as a tool to sideswipe people into the non upgradeability of said machines. Make it look pretty in a store, and those not in the know will lap it up.

i miss 640*480 where you could count the pixels yourlself. everything was so clear, no blur, no doubt about whats what. it was a square, and it was red, no doubt. retine will be nice for videos when Full HD is going out, like never. people still watch 720 and have no problems with that. there are other things more important like black levels, how much it blinds you, movement etc etc.

i prefer big screens, low resolution. That way, you can have them far away and still see things. Having your eyes glued to a screen is not pleasant.
