The whole point is that Apple barely cares about professional users, and their latest OS does not work correctly for professional users. It's hardly functional if you start pushing the CPU. If you're just browsing Facebook it's great though. |
This is so not true. Professional products ALWAYS have huge life cycles because updating your software can be a pretty big risk when it is your main source of income. Suggesting Apple doesn't care when they re-wrote their entire professional video software from the ground up is insane. It's now feature complete (though it wasn't at launch) with the previous one but it performs a million times better. Apple is likely doing the same with Logic.
Logic X will probably debut missing a few features from the previous iterations but with an entirely new user interface and be entirely rewritten. They will continue to sell and support Logic 9 and as time passes Logic X will be feature complete. It's how they have done every single rewrite down to Mac OS X (OS 9 still existed years after 10 debuted). Hell, even QuickTime was done this way.
The problem is it takes time. Be patient. Logic is filled with a lot of legacy code and badly needs to be rewritten to take advantage of the new features of modern operating systems.
The problem is not Mountain Lion, it's Logic. |

I actually own legit software. And notice that other people here agreed with me - which almost never happens on any other topic. I think your posts just indicate that you suck at producing edm and have no idea what you're doing. |
I've love to hear some of your work sometime. |

Even though I'm boycotting bitwig I know they have a linux version.
You have renoise, ardour and a few others. Also Wine is getting better and better by each release. I got FLStudio up and running, with ASIO I may add, in less than 20 minutes, and there weren't really that many bugs if I remember correctly. |

i agree with jayxthekoolest and am on on 10.6.8 snow leopard for life now i think
all my friends who upgraded to lion etc have issues with many software/plugs
also logic is a waste- they keep re writing it and it's always such a pain to open logic files from older versions... and this isn't coming from me but the team i work with and one of the mean reasons they/we don't use logic.
although the built in stuff is nice and its def useful, it will probably never be my primary DAW |

In case there was still any dispute over this, someone from GS e-mailed Tim Cook about these alleged rumors and received a reply from Apple

All I can say is I hope they are hard at work.
I actually love Logic.
It's definitely one of my absolute favorite programs.
I'm just disappointed that it currently does not function properly on my brand new $3,000.00 Macbook Pro with Retina Display.
If they can fix the issue within the next year, that would be awesome. |

What version of Logic are you using? I've been considering buying a new MBP lately, so this is concerning :\ |

I am using the latest Mac OS and the latest version of Logic which was updated very recently.
I have been a logic user for a couple years. The program worked insanely well on my previous Macbook Pro which was running Snow Leopard. |

What sort of probs are you having? Slow GUI? CPU overload?
