...turn back the hands of time and do a tour featuring their "old" sound and music?
Although Tiesto introduced me to this music, I unfortunately wasn't able to see him in — what many would call — his prime. Hell, I'd love and pay to see him spin some ISOS records.
So what do you think, will any of the older DJs who are nearing the eventual end of their DJ career put on one last show for the true fans and take it back to the old school?
Who would you want to see?
I think it would be a great farewell — both marketing wise and for the fans. So why not do it. |

| Thrillseekers had a vinyl only set a few months ago but I think that's probably as close as it's going to get. |

| I've read before that Sasha and Diggers are constantly fielding requests to do a classics, twilo-era set but have said that they'll never do it. |

| Aren't there classics nights anyway? You don't need those particular DJs to play the exact same records anyone else can. |

don't hold your breath for tiesto but i think there are plenty of lesser known dj playing on oldschool nights here and there. but then you never know. maybe tiesto will be spinning in las vegas like Elvis. but i doubt it.
also the artists that do are singers not djs like this below (all popular in the 80s and early 90s

What's the point of posting that flyer?
I'm trying to make a serious point, not contribute to promoting a circus roadshow. |

Do you have the link for the set?
Had a mail exchange with him years ago. Seems to be a really nice bloke! |

I've seen hundreds of trance DJs do classics sets.
John 00 Fleming
Scott Bond
Matt Hardwick
John Kelly (fu(king (unt)
JFK ((unt)
Guy Ornadel
Oliver Lieb
etc
They are pretty easy to come by - certainly in the UK.
I think it's less common amongst your typical 'premier league' DJs, although Armin does them sometimes at his own events.
Just before Tiesto changed genres', I'm sure I recall him playing afew classics sets. I doubt he would now though - get the impression he just doesn't like that music anymore. |

Do you really think the likes of Sasha, Armin, Guetta or Tiesto will need any more money in their life? They are set. What keeps them going is the rush of performing. It's pretty much a drug, it's the same reason for why old pop stars with all the money in the world keep making comebacks. |

the problem with 'classic nights', is the dj is almost obliged to pump out ty high profile tunes, as opposed to just the style of the era, with quality forgotten records.
it's like oh great, there's beachball  |

Classics sets are pretty common in the UK, even by DJs who still play out, and not just by trance DJs. In recent times I've seen:
808 State
Jon Carter
The Freestylers
CJ Bolland
Quivver
Mick Park (of Tilt)
Man With No Name
Dave Seaman
Justin Robertson
Ian Ossia
Airwave
Oliver Lieb
Gwill Morris
Going to add Hybrid, John 00 Fleming, Paul Bleasdale and Graeme Park to that list in a couple of weeks.
I think the obvious ones would be Sasha and Digweed, but they won't do them. Even at the Renaissance 20th birthday party, Sasha would only play two classics, both from the original Mix Collection. |
