thats a great car. Drives european but def closer to jap maintenance. congrats. I unfortunately love Saabs and it looks like will probably have to change to something else coming up and been looking around. VW is def a future option.

I drive a Saab too. Like everything except the gas mileage and cost of tires.

Congrats though!

What's so cool about the green car?

I mean behind it in the picture. I'm talking about the Camaro of course.

...caviar, four star daydream, think I'll buy me a football team.

Seriously, am I the only one who immediately thought of that song from seeing the thread title?

Mazda CX-5 is in my picture when they get available as used cars.
Guess VW brands Skoda or Seat are not sold in the U.S., the new Seat Leon looks good too, but the new Golf is unbeatable.
New 3 door Kia Pro Cee'd looks very good too though.

Well you can get Skoda and Seat over here but they're no where near as common so that means they're not as cheap as they are in Europe with respect to other brands on the market. It also means that if you do a roadtrip (which living in Cali happens often) you're ed if you break down somewhere as the parts will take several days to get.

Kinda why i was thinking of getting an American car or a VW.

Don't think I will get a golf though; they're not really worth it over here. Second hand they are so damn cheap in the UK as there's so many.

I paid £1,800 for a 1999 golf mk4 with 60k Miles on the clock in 2005, sold it for £1500 with 82k on the clock two years later. Loss of £100. Result.

Over here if I want a 5 year old golf with 60k miles on it, I'm looking at close to $10k if I'm lucky but it's simply not worth it.

The tires I def agree with. Gas mileage i think is decent actually but thats probably because I drove a BMW before, glad i got rid of that gas sucking machine.

Cars... such a waste of money.

Especially when you own a Honda that is immortal.

Most parts which can break down have VAG on it, which means Audi and/or VW parts, so that shouldn't be a problem. But if they are not cheaper compared to VW then go for VW. VW has better isolation, the difference must be somewhere.
An American car? My former U.S. colleagues even didn't want one...
