In short, LA.
That's the opinion most people have of LA, which is why it will never win a "most-liked city" poll (except the "hype" part... I've never heard anyone "hype" LA, people typically just on it all the time, even those who have never been)

Reasons why I love LA:

1. Nightlife
2. Entertainment
3. Food
4. Weather
5. The Beach
6. There's an area/vibe for everyone
7. Bas

If you've only visited you likely haven't seen the whole picture. LA isn't just one cultural identity, it's tons of neighborhoods each with (quite) distinctive personalities.

It doesn't have the natural beauty of say, the PNW or Denver, but if you're the kind of person who loves being surrounded by many different cultures and hilarious variations of human behavior, it's awesome.

EDIT: But in the end, it's all about what a person wants from a city. LA is great to me, but sucks for many. I'd probably love visiting Denver, but the lack of nightclub & electronic music options would likely drive me nuts after a while. San Francisco is freaking incredible, but it's just too damn cold (even in July!), etc.

Dude, today sucks, it looked like it was going to clear up a bit as I was going to class, get out and its all ing grayed over again, but still warm. humidity. I hate that . I hate when just a normal walk makes you feel sweaty and gross.

I take this back, walked downtown and over to the international district for lunch, walked back through Pioneer square (where a girl saw my brother and I and commented how cute it was we looked the same, to which he responded " you bitch") and back up to the top of Cap hill and I was only mildly covered in humidity sweat. :p A lot nicer than I thought it was going to be today.

Honestly, I'm dying to move to California. I have the means, but my boyfriend has already lived there, and is still undecided about going back. I definitely see myself living in San Francisco and/or surrounding areas.

I hear L.A is just like Miami, so that's a big turn off. We live near West Palm Beach, and we're escaping all the filth that breeds in South Florida. The cost of living is relatively low compared to California, but there are no Mountains here; Ideally, I'd like to have both within reach. West Coast is best coast...Call me naive...

Anywho, Let's all agree that NYC is the most overdone over-hyped cesspool in America, shall we?!

New York has a good scene though, probably the best in the US.

edit: Actually, I wholeheartedly disagree. There's so much in New York, it's kind of magical.

People who hate LA or NYC are.... well, I don't know how to describe them.

LOSERS!!!

How can you not like these cities?!?!?!?!?!?

You really must be one of those apprehensive tourist types and straight bitches.

Yeah, I love NYC. I don't know if I could live there, but it's an awesome city. One of the few places that's just as cool as it's portrayed as being in the movies.

If you're still hard after 4 pages, consult your doctor.

I was specifically talking about winter. It will be overcast with very little sun and cold for days in a row, sometimes over a week. That combined with the short days always drove me crazy. I also hate the almost-freezing-but-not-quite-so-just-really-cold-rain nonsense in the winter. So yeah, if that bothered me, imagine what Seattle would do.

ing hell. Never visit the UK.
