| Didn't go to Highline, but some of what Sasha and Gerber dropped was just flat out boring. I didn't mind because it was just a pretty chill event as it was, but Davide and MJC def made me want to dance more. |

imo guy gerber had the best set of the day
set it up perfect for sasha and played very good during the sunset |

| felt like Maya had great tracks but the set wasn't mixed with any kind of flow. Sasha in 1.5hrs(-15min for fireworks) is a joke. It's so deep it takes 1.5hrs just to get into the music. Guy Gerber killed it IMO, didn't hurt that there were some tracks from Luciano's sets (music to my ears), so he was a homerun from the start. Can't wait to see him Ibiza. The party should've started at 7pm - the sun was brutal, but overall setup with the view of the city was really nice and was nice to be home early. |

easily one of the funnest parties I went to this year.. Sasha was excellent, Gerber was awesome too.. Maya was all over the place but I still enjoyed it.. I guess I'm not as demanding as some *shrugs*
It was awesome to finally meet a lot of you guys and great to see some familiar faces too.. Fun times

This was one of the best parties I have ever been to. Period. Everything was literally perfect. If I had a blog I'd write a dope review, and actually mean it.
got to see so many people I haven't seen in a while, all in 1 place. absolutely great. Met TAs for the first time, that hasnt happened in a while!
portapotties were spotless (the one time I used one early on but still)

iced lemonade (or watermelon)

maya jane and guy were amazing!!!!
sasha kinda sucked so we left early, apparently we missed a dope fireworks show but oh well. i was sleepy.
The free e-cigs was an amazing touch. mad props to my girl stevie
and the location was gorgeous, what a view of the city skyline. argh I miss you guys, I miss NY i miss my frrriiiieeeeeennnddddsssss :( but what a way to celebrate America's birfday

it was nice seeing you too paulie.
sasha started a bit dull but really did well the last half of his set.
i agree with everything else you said though.
oh, all of the dj's played real well at the highline ballrom. that place isn't bad as people make out to be. I thought the system was fine and enough room to dance/move around. |

Guy Gerber was absolutely PHENOMENAL, seen him a number times and this ranks up at the top.
Like someone else said, Maya was a bit all over the place. I've been very disappointed with her in the past; seen her 4 times, but this one of the better sets I've seen by her out of the 4, still a bit too all over the place and lacked structure, but nice tracks selected overall.
Sasha started off a bit dull, but it was a nice change of pace, and where he took the set after that was just awesome, I couldn't have asked for more considering the (relatively) short set time.
I just missed Squillace unfortunately but heard he was great.

sorry for the late review, been a rammed ass weekend for me..
anywways, in short..i loved every minute of Sasha's set. I can understand how people's expectations may have been let down and i too was waiting for some of the classic involv3r tracks to be dropped but that never happened. I would have died to hear the xx or ultraista but the flow from the get i knew i wasn't getting it. he might have played it later on at highline, i wasn't there for it...
Maybe my mind is already in Europe, but did anyone else secretly wish that at some point in the night, fireworks would blast off the top of the warehouse roofs with cryo spraying the crowd right above the booth?
I missed afters because i was pulling these bad boys all morning

These days people seem to dance to anything.
When I used to go out during twilo days it didnt matter who was spinning if the dj was playing a medicore set people would just sit down in the lounge room outside of the main room and wait till the dj would start dropping beats.
Now adays everyone is idolizing the dj (loud screems, hand clapping)no matter how bad they play. Maybe if we were a bit more critical of the DJ and not give them our appreciation so fast DJs would be more inclided to try and earn or re-earn our respect. |
dude you don't even come out anymore, when was the last time you saw Sasha?
He's been great the past couple of years. He had a meh set on Thursday for the beginning but picked it up at the end. happens. And everyone in the prog house/tech house/techno scene is PLENTY critical, you're talking about the wrong crowd. |
