So the first benchmarks have been leaked, although they are apparently still working on hardware and software issues so they probably will be revised.

You know though, very little of what's in that picture will be actually internal in most 'pro' studios anyway. Storage, interfacing etc will all be racked up. |

Yeah, I love how they've put an apogee duet, AV selector interface, and all the power cables and powerbars in the picture to denote what used to be in the old mac pro :rolleyes:
@palm - what's the gripe with OSX. I have one mac, and 3 x PC's (one XP, one W7 and one w8).
Windows 8 feels like a windows 7 with a custom skin. I honestly can't tell any difference. And windows 7 is like XP with a built in indexing and search function.
and OSX feels like windows without the bugs or maintenance :toothless |

they have just unveiled an optical cable that transfers thunderbolt protocol allowing you to extend the current cable by 100 feet.
But PC has thunderbolt as well so it isn't really a selling point. I think the main issue is the disconnect between their software which is antiquated and their hardware which looks great but you would look rather daft running logic 9 on the new mac pro. |

Do you think they'll have PCI Express flash on laptops? or is that impossible? |

pretty sure it is already in the works. Thunderbolt is pcie so the laptops they currently sell already have the pcie bus built in. |

That means the stock flash is gonna be better then anything in the market, no need to upgrade. |

its the mouse-behaviour, the fonts, the buttons are missplaced, maximize windows etc etc. many little irritating things. also i like to put together stuff myself and do small upgrades all the time. i just dont like it anymore, i did like it on a laptop though mostly because the trackpad is awesome on macbooks, better than windows for that. but as a working station it just didnt work for me. especially mouse behaviour, placement of buttons, menus etc etc. |

Yes, bitches. Word has it, that new Mac Pro's are days away (some saying the 16th) and other saying for sure by the end of the month.
A legitimate quote has surfaced for a fully maxed out Pro (12 core, 1TB flash drive, 64gb Ram, Dual head AMD D700 Video card etc)- $9,500. |
