| My new Windows setup (W7 running Cubase 6.5 and tons of plugins) uses about 65GB. If you're careful about where you point library installers 256GB is more than enough for any usage. |

Damn, for all those people (you know who you are) who have been saying Apple are going to forget the "Pro" user market, you may need some ketchup to soften the taste of your hat :p
The apple update is actually pretty ing huge. The number of improvements and bug fixes are really the difference that was lacking between 9 and a "real" update to X.
Also, I think what most people don't understand that drive isn't just a drive. It isn't even a standard SSD. It's a PCIe Flash drive and considerably faster than any SATA drives currently available.
Apple has not dropped support for legacy versions of hardware. If your hardware can run mountain lion, then it can run logic X.
I like the fact Apple does not try to support ancient machines (7+ years) which would mean the OS is full of bloat like windows.
