Jenny's skin brother.
Dykes_on_Jay
Jenny and I are actually Eskimo brothers.

I wasn't talking about you.

I was referring to your comment about the man in question and associating it with Jenny.

Massive stupidity and simple mindedness are bringing this country down. Most of the people I know who are 100% American Non-Jewish but WASPS think 'who cares if they are spying on me, I'm not doing anything wrong'. I tell them, you're missing the point, our freedoms are gradually been eroded. You're too ing comfortable to care, and the media takes care of the rest. Washington is out of control.

I think this is it -- I was quite optimistic about America 2012-early 2013. King Dollar, sequester, etc. in spite of Obama's re-election; but, it's difficult to defend a country that day-after-day acts like a megalomaniac two-face ****.

Obama promised to close Guantanamo, we're almost six-seven years overdue. Health care reform, what do we get?! A botched-up dictatorial train-wreck. Benghazi?! An extension and amplification of the patriot act? The war on Coal?! The list goes on, and now this. Obama promised to take 'matters into his own hands' if Syria used chemical weapons? And what does he do, he backpedals on NSA issues while on a multi-million dollar tour, providing Africa with billions in aid, while poverty in America escalades (about 30% of the population are living just above the poverty line).

The country that once stood for democracy and freedom, is now a country doomed by an overinflated bureaucratic government that oppresses it's citizens with fear. Where politicians no longer act on behalf of those who elected them, but on greed: re-election.

Images from Cairo are only visions of what we might witness in this country, but sometimes I question the spirit of the Millenial/Generation-Z American. Indoctrinated by a crippling left wing unionized education system divided by racial conflicts and cultural bias. Will these people ever rise against their own oppressive government? Do they have the courage to take a stand?

you really aren't very smart.

Am I the only person that thinks snowden is a narcissistic opportunist that only worships Julian Assange more than himself?

This guy was a defense contractor, well paid and knew exactly what he was doing. He then goes and releases a bunch of secure information and makes public statements like he's some kind of hero.

I think he's done this purely for his own benefit and there's nothing "brave" in his motives.

I JUST COULDN'T HANDLE IT ANYMORE. I DON'T WANT TO BE A PART OF A GOVERNMENT THAT DOES THIS TO ITS PEOPLE. I WAS COOL WITH IT FOR A FEW YEARS, BUT NO LONGER!
wotyzoid
He seems pretty genuine about it. How could he possibly benefit for going up against the NSA?
srussell0018
A guaranteed job with a foreign intelligence agency?
wotyzoid
Why would he leak everything if he wanted that? Why not keep the information and then hand it over to whoever hires him?
srussell0018
As a last " you" to the NSA? He seems like one of those people who make barely legible posts on here talking about how much they hate America and want to renounce their citizenship. If he was really so genuine about what he's trying to help, then why has he been doing it for years?

That's exactly it. He got paid for years to do this job, and quite handsomely. Even if he does time, think what the film and book rights are going to be worth for him?

And again, there's the Assange factor; it's no coincidence that he wanted asylum in Ecaudor or even the Embassy; You also have to realize that Assange, up until his imposed exile was living like a rockstar, groupies and all. I think snowdon wants some of that life and realized although being paid OK, he's going no-where exciting. Now he's all over the media.

And why is it he didn't just give the info to wikileaks anonymously? Because he didn't want WL getting all the attention.
srussell0018
Right, if he didn't care about the publicity and just wanted to expose a supposed injustice, why would he grant a face to face interview to the media? Why use his name at all?
