I'm just a straight forward person and don't care what others think and know exactly what makes me happy in life (which rubs some people the wrong way. A lot of people are annoyed by self-confident people who truly don't care and are not influenced by the opinions of others)This is all my own fault though for writing open ended statements/questions and giving people the opportunity to assume. It's not just tranceaddict either. Even a football forum I post on is at dangerously high assumption levels. Not quite sure of the cause but I suspect the world's water supply has been tainted.

By the way, just because somebody asks for something or asks a question about something doesn't mean they have no knowledge of said topic/thing.I want presets because they help me (maybe not you) generate ideas, period. How much or little I know about Diva is not even a factor. It's nice to be able to go through sounds and identify what you like and don't like, tweak them, deduce them, etc. They're especially nice in synthesizers you're still learning, but that's not the case here. (For the record, A year ago I wouldn't have written "but that's not the case here" but I'd hate to let you assume something)

My memory also tends to identify strangely with specific sounds/presets. Often times I might be playing with a MIDI sequence and think to myself .. "Hmm that Dark Voodoo patch from Diva would probably sound really good here" - so I open Diva, load the patch, and then tweak it to my desire. Not exactly rocket science here, but if I don't explain then we'd have another reply probably talking about how I should play with the filter cut off or FM knobs, or learn how to modulate an lfo to square pwm, etc. To be clear, when I said "tweak it to my desire" in the sentence above, that's what I meant. (play with the filter cut off or FM knobs, or learn how to modulate an lfo to square pwm)

learn how to modulate the pulse width and you claim you know what you are doing ? I think the point is that you asked for commercial banks , and you have a few users on here that sell them and maybe out of respect to those users that have been around longer than you , you should be a little more sensitive. So ya, its your ing fault. There is nothing wrong with anyone else that feel you are also kinda a dink.

and the thing comes with over a thousand presets. So...

I'm not in the mood to read this whole thread but If you have extra Diva presets then send them here in a private message.

Stay Classy
Cheers.

Commercial presets are commercial because they aren't free.
And then you bitch about people claiming you didn't ask for commercial presets when it is right there is print.
I don't know what it is about you but you really were not spanked enough or something. Llike there is this weasel-esque vibe that you emit that makes me think a bootcamp would do you good.

next thing you know he's gonna make up degrees he doesnt have and !

I'm stunned you're justifying his request.

First, I do not justify piracy to be clear. Again, I spent most of my career relying on people buying content, but this isn't the same thing.

Maybe I'm a bit autistic in that respect but my brain seems to hold peripheral info about what people have posted over the years on here and Stephen has always been one to discuss new plugs/software/module etc that he's bought and paid for, not to mention he ran a label and was very conscientious to try to make sure artists didn't get ed, unlike with so many other labels.

Now combine that with the fact he said downloading a pirated copy of one thing led him to buy two other from that person and they never would have got a sale form him without it, and the fact he's currently down on his luck and frankly, you guys need to stop being such Nazi's about this.

He's not trying to steal from you, and he's one of the few left in this industry that actually pay for the stuff they use, so one sound bank of presets isn't akin to taking the food off your table

It's people like him that have let you put food on the table in the first place by making money from soundbanks, so let's keep this specific discussion in perspective and in relation to the person we're dealing with.

Furthermore, you'll see all the links I posted were legit FREE samples, but I said if he happens to download one pirate, big deal, for the precise reasons I mentioned above.

You're all deluding yourself if you've never pirated anything or been given something from a freind that you didn't pay for.

habitual pisstakers and rampant piracy is a different thing, but that's not the case here.

Oh, and I know this is waaaaay off topic now but..

While it's technically true it's paid for, I knew plenty of people growing up that hadn't paid a penny in to the system, but without hesitation at 15/16 popped out a baby to get a council flat and income support for the next 16 years, just like their Mum did before them. I paid for that , not them, and although I didn't like it, you deal with it because you earn a living and ultimately have it better, so think of Stephen "taking" a soundbank as just a little socialism in action until he's back on his feet ;)

and all this aside, Richie is actually completely right; there is no copyright at all on presets, unless you have a contractual agreement with the company that made the synth, so if you really think about it, at least in the USA, you're actually breaking the law by selling a soundbank that lists a commercially registered brand name without their permission to make profit.

Who's the pirate now? :toothless
