I scrolled through this in 10-15 minute segments and it's pretty much the same kick/snare all the way through. I'd fall into a coma were I faced with this on the dancefloor.
I just do not get the appeal. It's like someone took a vacuum to House and sucked out everything that makes the music soulful. |

It's weak because the actual substance doesn't even come close to matching the hype surrounding it.
But that's what sells in droves and what people have been convinced is appealing and worthy of their attention. Hype. And it's that hype that creates the cycle of production/idiot consumerism that we're awash in today.

Hipster? Hardly, the guy's been behind the decks since the 80s and has obsessively deep crates.
Think this one's from '95 or '96:
I always thought that hipster implied someone who appears as if they don't care about their image, but who has actually gone to great length to attain that particular look.
That, or a term that out of touch old people use to label young people that they don't understand and are somewhat intimidated by. |
