I don't want my tastes conflating with PivotTechno's just because we both dislike Richie Hawtin. Put it this way, when Hawtin was boring the out of me with his Enter show at Sonar back in the summer, an endless procession of stupid white noise breakdowns and silly plumes of smoke and fireworks, I defected over to the other arena to see Derrick May do this:
Techno with sweat-soaked energy, with interesting structures, with varied and exciting rhythms, with flashes of melody where it counted, and not so much mixed as wrestled dextrously in and out of the mix by a man with two turntables and a mixer. And if that doesn't give enough indication, the next techno line-up I'm seeing is Dave Clarke and Joey Beltram. 'Nuff said? |

This thread is hilarious on many levels. First, EYK's command of the English language is mesmerizing.

should i respond on a public forum as if i'm writing a thesis or a cover letter in order to gain any respect from you guys?
why would I? since yall sound soft as like "wrestled dextrously" and "interesting structures"

It's weak because the actual substance doesn't even come close to matching the hype surrounding it.
But that's what sells in droves and what people have been convinced is appealing and worthy of their attention. Hype. And it's that hype that creates the cycle of production/idiot consumerism that we're awash in today.
If this belief makes me an elitist, then it, I'm an elitist. |
it makes you a bitchmade boy, it's alright bro i had fun doing this in the 5mins this morning drinking my coffee

there's a lot up there, dvs1 is great live
i don't think any one is 'better' just a lot of these guys outside of providing good music clearly do not have the marketing genius behind them like richie does.
in the techno realm there's a ton of great artist, derrick may being one of them as posted earlier, there's ricardo villalobos, sven, carl cox, then you look at the brand Enter and look at CLR and Drumcode and CircoLoco or Viva Warriors, a lot of those brands are in the same echelon as Enter if not just below Enter. Richie is a marketing genius, you can't refute that as he is probably one of the most innovative performers in the music nightlife. |

I scrolled through this in 10-15 minute segments and it's pretty much the same kick/snare all the way through. I'd fall into a coma were I faced with this on the dancefloor.
I just do not get the appeal. It's like someone took a vacuum to House and sucked out everything that makes the music soulful. |
Not a huge fan of sharam but I think this would be fun at a beach party with some hot woman. Traxx meh, talented yes, but at a beach party with probably 30 guys and no girls I would pass. Talent wise yes, party wise hellll no |

Whereas you sound like a real bad muthera not to be crossed, right? A 32 year old Asian guy who talks like he’s the missing member of NWA is going to be a laughing stock on any forum. Sort your life out. |

nothing i type alludes to me believing i'm 'bad muthera not to be crossed' or claim that i'm "A 32 year old Asian guy who talks like he's the missing member of NWA", but then again that's all your perception and that's all you guys ever bring to the table, it's like the go-to retort it's old everyone continues to type it and it's honestly not even funny if all of it were true
BUT...just for once...if by chance, someone on the OUTSIDE of your e-Clique, e-Gang, e-ForumCrew saw someone type something silly like
the dj twiddled the knobs as eclectic sounds reverberated through my spinal cord and tickled my senses which elevated my AH I CAN'T REPLICATE YOU CORNBALL EMO S
Sincerely,
MostHated (jump on the bandwagon there's plenty of room for me to carry you sad s) |
