The really funny thing is that nobody has actually posted a single track in this thread, so I'm not sure which classics you two aren't enjoying.

Yeah, hehe, sorry...Sometimes TA threads become a big mash in my head.
Was talking more about Trance tunes mentioned here lately as classics, there were probably 3 or 4 in this thread as well.

This sentence makes it sound like you buckled to the weight of peer pressure and bandwagoned like a cliquey teenager onto whatever's "cool" at the time...
"I stopped liking what I liked because not enough people shared my interest, so I adapted to what other people like" more or less. I mean I could be completely wrong but that's what it comes off as here.

If that was true, I'm pretty sure J' would have become a minimal-lovin' Brit-hipster. Clearly, that didn't happen.:gsmile:

Yeah, I buckled to peer pressure by moving to a city where I knew practically no one and by going out to parties on my own. That makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

I still listen to '90s music all the time (proof) but you people talk as if none of the properties that made electronic music interesting in the '90s have survived today and you're doomed to a life of solitude where nobody can ever understand your esoteric tastes. Get a ing grip. If you really love music as much as you say and you really feel so socially alienated, move somewhere where there are interesting people and exciting music.

Alright, the wording just made it seem that way.
Or hey, try to spark something in your area if there isn't a scene for it. Recently in my city trance has been (albeit slowly) picking up popularity. We now have an occasional event dedicated to trance, though most of the DJs play modern electro and minimal tech stuff. But still, it's better than nothing and the fact that we can get a regular event dedicated to trance is a good start.

I give System-J props for at least moving out to find like minded people. I wish I had more time and money. With those resources I could build a scene myself. Props to J though.

Dance music will always be inferior to non-dance music. How hard is that to understand? It's a poor, limited category. You can't have much variation in there. Even the best of the best of dance music (which has nothing to do with trance or house or any such club music) sounds laughable compared to real music.

Besides that, trance and house have always been rubbish genres. The only reason people think otherwise is due to nostalgia. They grew up with these genres so they remember them as something great when, in reality, there was never anything great about them. They simply were kids of poor taste who fell in love with that , possibly under the influence of drugs which they were, lacking analytical skills, unaware of (Acperience, for example, is a rubbish track.)

The real difference between stadium trance/house and classic/acid trance/house is this: stadium house is bipolar, classic trance is autistic.

Let's get real, folks.

From now on, I'm gonna refer to them as bipolar trance and autistic trance.

By the way! this is a stupid question with even stupider answer. He should have simply said "Why, I left trance so that I can make more money and be more popular, for christsake, isn't it obvious?"

For he certainly didn't leave so that he can make BETTER music. He can't make better music. I mean, he's no musician, he doesn't even make his own crappy music lol.
