Tiesto Roxy Review (pg. 4)

I had a great time last night. I thought Tiesto's set was amazing. Last year everyone was comparing him to Oakenfold because he was playing more slow progressive than euphoric trance. He totality reversed his style and I loved it. He probably played like 3 slow songs and then took off and never slowed down. I thought the entire night was banging from start to finish. It just kept getting better.

I also think Roxy has made some great improvements in the Phazon. Certain places in the club didn't sound so good, but other parts sounded just perfect. They took out the stage and lounge area to make more room to dance. Noel Sanger did a great job of pumping up the crowd before Tiesto came on. The crowd was awesome! At the end you hear some guy cry "Come Back Soon, Ok". Silver Bath never sounded so good

A couple of other songs not mentioned:

Frank Trax - Neubachan
Oceanforce - Euphoric Dream (Oceanforce Mix)
Ultramarine - Fatherland (Original Mix)
Signum feat Katana - Moonflow
Katana - Alesis

It was great meeting up with with Trance Edifice, Tiesto14, NY1004, Dj Tech, Bryan, and Art. I took lots of pictures which I'll post in a day or two. See everyone at PVD :tongue2 (Mabye Sasha)

and Innercity was from 1999 not 1998

No he didn't, he was started out with old skool house back in the 80's, he moved from that to Hardore House, and later to trance.

And why so much Tiesto flaming :p Innercity 2002 will be Tiesto Judgement Day ;) He'll be spinning on the mainstage for 2 hours along with Sven vath, Marco V others

Rite on, I wish he would play MaGik Journey type of stuff in a club, but it will never happen, not fast enough for NYC croud..
I wish he did..
He did play fast tech-trance.. Fast is good though..

in NO WAY was that a Majik Journey....he BARELY played any trademark Tiesto uplifting tracks...so i dont kow what your talking about....he spun manily tech-trance.....

u want a Majik Journey listen to Magik 6...or Live at Eurodance Melkweg 1999 or his rescent set at Club Space....then u will hear a Majik Journey....where it takes you from the lowest point and leaves u at the paragon of euphoria...

a MAJIK JOURNEY would start with a track like "Majik Journey" and end with a track like "Cloud Walking".......and everything in between takes u on a voyage...in no way can tech trance take u on a REAL TISTO MAJIK JOURNEY....never happen!!!

arnold- i am sooo glad that someone called tiesto on this!!

he has been getting progressively worse since Oct 2001 at World

i did NOT like his set at area2, too slow, too long intros & outs, and mixing was horrid

i am glad i was in san diego and missed this one

all i have to say is:

PAUL VAN DYK

see all of you there!!!

Well he did start and end with MAGIK JOURNEY the last time he spun in New York. February @ Exit.

And there were many MAGIKAL moments: Nebuchan, Monkey Forest, Silverbath, Closing Session, Southern Sun, Clockwork Orange, freaking GOURYELLA!! I mean after hearing the man spin Gouryella what else can you ask for, that was so unexpected.

And Tiesto14, It was recorded on Innercity 1998 but released in 99.

i think i was surrounded by TA's the whole night, i was the tall skinny guy standing when you face the stage, a little to the left and against the rail on the platform right below tiesto...

Noel Sanger was pretty good, Roxy crowd was great, all the people i bumped into were real nise...

i have always liked tiesto's style, even when it changes some.. i loved him when he was playing epic uplifting stuff, and then when i started liking some semi-progressive stuff, tiesto started playing some more progressive stuff, and now what i want to hear some more of is breaks, and he played a few of those at Roxy!! i was blown away...

i agree tiesto has never been any kind of a good mixer, if all i cared about was mixing yea i wouldn't go to a tiesto liveset either, but me i mainly care about track selection and thats why tiesto is one of my fav dj's...

NY1004
Hello all. Well I was reading some of the posts and I'm sorry to hear that some of you didn't have such a great night. I had such an awesome time!! And was anyone else loving how Tiesto was digging the music and the crowd? I love it when DJ's get into it too.

I DIED when Tiesto dropped Gouryella. As soon as I heard him start to mix it in I started going crazy and everyone around me was looking at me weird. Damn...that one song just did it for me. Honestly he could have played songs after that and I wouldn't have cared. Pure bliss. :p

And what kind of night would it have been without seeing all you guys!It was so great as always!

John - It always great seeing you!
Tom - You are a dancing maniac!
Brian - It was great seeing you smashed haha! Glad to know you enjoyed your b-day!
Tek - I loved your CD man! Its on repeat in my cd player!
Tiesto14 - I think I was the chick that you met. :tongue2 Great meeting you!

i mean i KNOW he's spinning and all but last year when i saw him all the times i did he was NICE and took his time for each fan..NOW he's kinda cocky.....

umm he is top 3 best dj's in the world.... he was cool, signing autographs for fans while spinning ? i dont ever see that.

he handed me a signed record at the end of the night.

i guess he is just selective ;)
