Jay is somewhat nailing it, and honestly Jack I think your temper fueled rage at me stemming form previous discussion just makes you want to gild what I'm saying to in to your little imaginary narrative of saying only rich people should be in nice places.
I'm not rich. I work about 70 hours a week. I doubt I would if if I was loaded.
you've been reaching for something that isn't there during this whole debacle
The point is, you keep trying to tie the discussion to money or some financial aspect; throwing loaded insults such as nouveau riche, bourgioise, rich kids, etc
Again, what i'm getting at is this:

What does effort of style have to do with money?
For instance look at the mod scene in the 60's. Dirt poor kids going out on the town but you'd be damned sure they looked sharp as a whistle. Style. Effort. Nothing to do with money. That entire scene was like that. Same with clubbing through the 90's and early 00's in London. People made an effort. I was a school kid working in bike shops on saturdays, but again, you'd be damned sure than when you went out to mind over matter, or bagleys, or the cross, or fabric or [insert any half decent club here], you made an effort, because everyone else did and you weren't getting in if you didn't at least try

I don't see why you can't do both. A quality shirt, a pair of nice jeans and some decent shoes are no less comfortable or functional.
Sure, if your idea of going out is vaguely splashing whatever moonshine you can grip in your bungling banana like hands while your e-puddle erupts in to a chunky fountain from your throat all over you and any fellow gollum like organisms nearby, then fine; maybe you really shouldn't own anything nice at all.
But some of us like to go to nice places, hear ing great music and when you look around at the other punters, not have a view akin to that of walking in to a homeless shelter mid-riot.
I'll never understand why this conversation has to be so polarized. It's not a binary choice of head to toe Dior Homme, or dress like you raid the reject bins at goodwill (oxfam).
Why do I think it's sad then? Because the few seldom nights I go out, it's nice to see a crowd that's ing up for it, and a facet of that is they've made an effort to change out of their work clothes to have a good time.
Again, it's environment specific and not about "expensive" or costly things. At gatecrasher, part fo it's attraction was the passion of the punters, and while I was never one to put fridge magnets in my hair, you gotta give it to them they were ing in to it, and I'll take that over making sure you only wear worn jeans, beaten up trainers and a scraggly T-shirt, for fear of being branded a petite bourgeois.
Also, sop with the exclusive/inclusive thing. As I said earlier: if your going to a LGBT club better make sure you get your heels out and that tight dress accentuates your luncheon meat truncheon.

Yeah, but this is just a humble-brag: "I'm not rich, I can only afford to spend $400 on drinks in one club per night. Being rich is snorting lines of cavier off Donald Trump's dick".
And it's a strange day indeed when 'Crasher kids are invoked in a discussion about looking really nice and stylish. Didn't Gatecrasher end up refusing entry to people who'd bought cyber gear from their own clothing line?
Looney4Clooney
Maybe rann means style. People should put effort in looking good as in stylish. Not expensive which can look absurd. I can understand wanting to be around styleand how I would not want to be around some flailimg 19 year old dancing like a jack rabbit.
Clubbing is not just about music. It is an experience. Ugly people that can't dance or dress detract from it. Some people can pull off jeans and a short sleeved shirt and look like their outfit was intended. So,e people wear an Armani suit and look like they work at radio shack .

We all seen what you look like and dress, you got no say on that topic slut. :p
Both gays are still trying to impress strangers on the internet.
Rann: Uh yeah I worked with 50k quested monitors and top leading industry studio's

I feel sorry for insecure people, I really do. I can't imagine depending on the validation of others so much. Sad.

With all due respect Jennie you yourself know the difference between a cheap 100 dollar suit at tip top and a nice zegna suit.
Women's clothes you can't tell much of a difference between a 20 dollar shirt from H&M and an 80 dollar shirt from holt's
But for guys a 20 dollar shirt definitely looks like a 20 dollar shirt. Don't get me wrong I still grab a few things from H&M or from Zara for cheap but I'll only wear those items when I'm not at a nice place
Silky Johnson
Sure, but I don't think it's important to let people know I know the difference - because who gives a in ? I cannot stand materialistic, superficial, status seeking people. They are actually such pathetic losers (on a spiritual/emotional and intellectual scale) most of the time, and very draining to be around. More often than not, very self-centered, among other things. Just be normal ffs.
Silky Johnson
And I should clarify, yeah I like well-made things as much as the next person who enjoys creature comforts, but I do not judge a person by these kinds of things, because at the end of the day those things don't matter, and it's ing stupid. Again, who cares?
People with true class, possession of wealth and/or status don't need to go around telling everyone "HAY LOOK AT ME I WEAR HUNDRED DOLLAR SHIRTS AND SPEND FOUR BILLS A NIGHT IN CLUBS!!" because it just is what it is. That's how you can always tell who doesn't have (not like it matters!!) because those people are always trying to draw attention to their "things". It's overcompensation in the most tacky, obvious way.

Kind of like that time you were with me at Cobra in 2010 and that guy was trying to instigate with me suggesting I drive a "Camry" and then proceeded to show pics of a nice house on his phone (that I later found out from mutual friends was actually his parent's).
All started because he wanted a smoke from you...and then he thought he knew me (he doesn't, he knows some of my friends). Asks me why he hasn't seen me and I say "We hang in different circles" to which he replied "My circle is better than yours"...then the pic parade of girls and said house. :stongue::stongue:

HAHAHA holy I totally forgot about that!! Man I'm like a loser magnet - these fags WANT the abuse I'm sure of it, lol. :stongue::stongue:
