Nah, I wish I was always on the list :p I just know a few people that play there sometimes. I haven't really kept track at how often i've been denied, probably somewhere around 6-7 times?

Barcelona is a beautiful city, and I'm always happy to visit. We are even talking about moving there, if I could get a job at one of the big American or British companies that have offices there. I've been before for Sonar festival and saw all the sights and tourist stuff that time. This trip was for my girlfriend's birthday, because her best friend lives out there, so we spent most of the weekend eating delicious food and drinking good wine for ridiculously low prices.

To follow on from Woony's remark about not doing it every weekend, I've decided this year to stop going out so much, only when there's a DJ or event on that really excites me. There were a couple of occasions last year when I came down with horrible infections the week after a party - the rather predictable outcome of staying awake for 24 hours with no food - and I realised I'd been doing it for too long without enough breaks. 2015 is going to be about keeping fit and treating my body well. I've got a half-marathon coming up in May and I want to spend more weekends treating my body with a modicum of respect.

Not to mention it helps with not burning out from the party scene.

I hated Barcelona. I got haggled by a bunch of nigerian prostitutes. like 5 of them grabbing at me. So i pushed one away, she slipped and fell. She then yelled something in Nigerian and a bunch of nigerian dudes came out of nowhere and began chasing me.

if you don't dress the part prepared to get robbed

Yeah, I remember the African prostitutes who fill up Las Ramblas after midnight and try and drag you down alleys. There's definitely a sleazy underside to the city.

However, the architecture is beautiful, the food is outstanding and unbelievably cheap, the weather is stunning pretty much all year round and the nightlife is world class.

Really, the best thing about Berlin's endless opening hours is that you don't have to stay up all night when you want to get your dance on. I only do all nighters maybe every 2-3 months these days, I couldn't imagine doing that a couple times a month. Speaking of half marathons, the guy I know with most partying endurance ever is turning 40 soon. He's always sober and sometimes I have no idea how he does it when he's beating someone like me that's half his age but he's a runner, your physical condition really goes a long way I suppose.

they wouldnt let me in berghain. My fault though I was dressed to impress. The bouncer at Watergate let me know why I wasn't getting in places "You're not from here are you? Don't dress like a douche, go home put on runners jeans and a T shirt and I will let you in"

'dress to impress' in Berlin means dressing like you're either straight out of an s/m dungeon or just rolled off your couch :D. Granted, this only goes for technoclubs, not regular top40 clubs/bars.
