Therapy doesn't do much as far as addressing my symptoms, honestly. I mean, I was told I have psychotic symptoms, and therapy isn't going to magically make them go away.

I would suggest spending less time believing what one individual said (i.e. Iboga is the cure, You are a psycho etc). more than anything else you seem quite gullible and ready to listen to anyone without any degree skepticism.

Why the you'd want to do ECT before you have literally exhausted every other avenue is quite amazing. You realize it will permanently change you your neural and even physical makeup?

Actually, therapy would help you to acquire insight, which would help you to identify your symptoms, triggers, etc. in order to better manage them and develop coping skills. I don't think any psychiatrist would suggest medication alone. Combination therapy is proven most effective.

Have you tried putting yourself on an exercise regiment or just get some sunshine and fresh air...vitamin D much?

You make ECT sound very casual and routine, that could make you all farkakte.

Right, because I don't believe I ever came off as a complete nutter. Enthusiastic about Iboga, I was, but nuts? Nah. I doubt it.

You came across as more nuts, although with hindsight I realise you were just in the middle of the "Iboga afterglow" and still a mile away from sobriety. You sounded like a potted plant.

I don't know what you get up to in day to day life, but normally on here your brain-wrong mainly manifests itself in exactly this kind of post: reacting seriously and earnestly to obvious piss-takes. Like the time someone joked you had a small dick so you posted an extensive sexual history to prove otherwise. And the time now where you're about to dispute the literalism of "extensive sexual history" until you read to the end of this sentence.

What are you even talking about? Iboga is obviously not "the cure," and I'm not listening to any one individual, I'm listening to what the various doctors diagnosed me as.

Because I have literally exhausted every other avenue. I've been on the med-go-round for nearly 3 years with no results and I've seen various therapists, too. ECT is very effective and as safe as many medications. It's especially effective in treatment-resistant cases, such as my own.

Tried all that, doesn't help much, unfortunately.

I've been doing some research on it, and it's pretty safe and often very effective. If they'd offer it to me now, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I'm seeing a therapist, Jenny, and it doesn't do much. She tells me what I already know - that I should force myself to try and socialize more, not be too hard on myself, be patient with the meds, etc.

That was nearly three years ago. Move the on. But yes, congratulations for showing me that although I may not be nuts, I'm not entirely in my right mind, either. I already knew that, . I'll give you a little insight into the matter: psychosis strips you of your personality.

By the way, the only reason I'm considering microdosing Iboga (I'm still rather reluctant to do so) is because of what this guy wrote on a forum:

"Diagnosed Scizophrenic 32 years ago: "Going on two years now and I am still microdosing iboga. There must be other mentally ill people who could benefit from this practice. It helps me to go to work every day and stay off disability. It lifts my mood and clears my thinking. I can't say enough about this plant and its affect on my mind."

So yeah, if meds fail me again and if ECT is not recommended, I may as well perhaps try microdosing Iboga. Maybe.

The point was you don't actually come across as particularly "nuts", certainly not compared to some of the more illustrious TA crazies. You come across more like someone lacking a sense of humour or the ability to take a bit of ball-busting without overreacting, but in that sense you're no more crazy than dozens of other posters (SRUSSELL, for example).

However, on Iboga you did sound pretty crazy. Your personality was clearly unbalanced.
