I always laugh at people who argue against another's perceptions. Who are you to tell another person what/why/how they interpret anything in the world?
Carry on though. |
What I'm saying is, I've been to hospitals and I've seen people who are clearly nuts. They always asked me what I'm doing there, because clearly they didn't think I was nuts enough to be there. |

For real though, I'm pretty sure you can't just demand ECT. I know that it's meant to be a last resort for symptoms that can't be managed with medication and other therapy. What I don't remember is how long one has to have unmanageable symptoms for in order for a doc to prescribe ECT. Probably in my old notes somewhere but ehhh.
What I DO know is it's quite effective for severe depression and depression associated with bi-polar disorder. |

You're relying on the perceptions of mentally ill people who don't know you? |

Are you talking about electric shock treatment?
What's a safe volt/amps? Maybe he can rig up something... do a little diy treatment with a taser... |

No, I meant the perceptions of doctors, staff and therapists in the hospitals. Although once a Bipolar guy also asked me what I was doing there. |

I'm on Risperdal (and Lithium) again - I reckon I'll give it about a month and if nothing's doing, I'm going to ask for ECT. |

| Do you not see a therapist regularly as well? You can't possibly be relying on medication alone? |

Therapy doesn't do much as far as addressing my symptoms, honestly. I mean, I was told I have psychotic symptoms, and therapy isn't going to magically make them go away. |
