In hindsight it was legalize for lawsuit protection. They could have explained it as such to allay my fears considering I was already in an anxious state. |

| I thought the reason as to why physicians had such high salaries in the US was due to the malpractice insurance. |

All I'm saying is it isn't that big of a deal on the scale of life threatening abdominal/GI problems requiring a hospital stay and potentially requiring surgical intervention. Blowing it out of proportion like a lot of men do, cause they are babies. :p |
i hope you're being sarcastic lol |

You pulled your molar out yourself?
Can't say I've ever tried that, but it sounds pretty rough. |

No, I'm not. I work on an inpatient surgery unit. I see it quite literally, every day. |

The medical professionals' unions here control whether new medical schools can open and be accredited. Other things being equal, if the supply of doctors increases while the demand for them remains constant, the price of their services will have to go down. Can't have that if they want to keep their cushy salaries! |

Same goes for some European countries as well. They keep the demand high so that they can keep the salaries cushy. I know a guy who wanted to leave for the US as a doctor, the process of getting a license over there was purely draconian. |
