It was very odd to hear 'God Save the King' sung at the service at St Paul's today. Hard to imagine there are many people alive who have ever sung it before. Truly an end of an era.

The wife and I are rewatching the Netflix series The Crown in honor of her majesty. I can't vouch for the accuracy, but it's well made and has good production values and the right amount of drama.

Well, after 2 years or whatever, the wife and I finally caught Covid this week. The joys of being university lecturers, I suppose. Wife is freaking out about long Covid; I'm enjoying gin and ginger ale and catching up on some books. Studies say it's important to stay relaxed and let your body rest.
Should hear in the next few days what happened with the person who (allegedly) assaulted me; their 2nd trial date was yesterday, but I can't seem to find how they pleaded online.
The Crown definitely has some major historical issues, but it does also have good production values. I imagine they'll extend it another season now, concluding with QEII's death. We'll see how it goes. I'm still getting used to referring to 'the King.'

I got Covid in April. I quite enjoyed being alone and having 10 days off work, all shifts in that time paid (we have a separate bank for covid sick time and pay). My symptoms were minimal thanks to vaccines, so the whole experience was rather a nice break to myself lol.

I came down with a cold for the first time in several years. Not covid, but guess it's time to start masking up again. My roommate got covid for the first time and another friend got it for the second time. Numbers definitely about to start goin up again.

Well after 48 hours of only mild symptoms, my entire body basically collapsed in like 2 hours. Then spent about 48 hours in bed. Finally able to get out today, hopefully this means I've gotten past the worst.
Somehow the idiot who assaulted me pleaded not guilty despite admitting that it is him in the video punching me in the face? Will be very interested in seeing how the trial plays out. Scheduled for January.
