ignorant friends!!!

i have 2 or three friends that are so ignorant of djing being a talent, and a skill.
they dont even know what kind of music i spin, but when they hear that i have dex, they're like "hey john, lets go mix"....like its somethin they can pick up instantly.
they have no intention of trying to learn, because they dont even care what style i spin, and they think its as easy as moving a record back and forth (scratchin)
here is a conversation i had w/ a guy on my block:
Randy- hey john, i heard you got turntables. wanna go mix?
Me(john)-first off, you should know i spin hard trance, and secondly, how could you know how to dj?
Randy- what is hard trance? and i know how to dj, i have a turntable(notice, not plural, only one) at my house. i know what to do.
me-jeez....like techno (techno---the lay-men term for any electronic music) and you cant mix with only one table...
Randy- yeah i can, and i bet i know more than u know about djing...
me- ok, fine. ask me a question...
randy- do u know how to warp
me- warping....wtf!
Randy- see i do know more...
(really, he had one of those little dealys made by mattel, that had two plastic wheels, and a "crossfader" hooked up to his computer. warping is one of the built in effects. basicly, its like changin tha mid eq to make it sound like a "wah" effect)
what do u think of people like this? |

| I tell these kind of en ppl to off and go buy some wheels before they speak. |

yea i HATE those people. theres a bunch at my school that are like that, its soo annoying, if they do come over, they get bored in like 1 minute because i spin deep prog and hard trance. they hear the prog and are like dud you suck, and im like wtf, i just needle dropped like 2 seconds ago, your a ing moron!!!!! but with hard trance its beter, but still, there all, man, you dont' do anything, real dj's are the ones that scratch and stuff, this is so easy, but then I tell them to try andt here like nah, its ok.

HAHA this is hilarious
simple solution: don't associate with morons like that, they're not worth your time anyway. don't even try to argue, idiots will always beat you in this kind of an argument, because they don't know what they're talking about and can thus make up all sorts of that's just absolutely hilarious yet irrefutable (from their standpoint). just nod, say "uh huh, ok", and leave. is what i do. ;) |

people who think you have decks tend to associate it with scratching. It is annoying.
just dont tell people you have decks and mix hard trance. they dont have to know do they? |

| just give them a go with some of your less good tunes and a pair of old needles if u have any. will shut the fukkers up, shut my mates up :) |

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a few of that kind of friends.........
I have this one friend that always wanted o be my "dj partner"..... I'm probably gonna start DJing in clubs soon.... so he's like "man, I'm with you all the way to the DJ booth!!! I'll drive you to the club, mix with you, and be by your side the whole set!!!"
and when I talk to my friends about DJing (aspecially tricks) he's like "yeah! I do that sometimes too when I mix" and I'm like "you don't mix! you ain't got any gear" and he says "ummmm.... yeah but a friend of mine does.... and I mix at your place too!"
when actually when he comes over, and "we" decide to do some spinning, I spin, and he stands to my right and dances..... :wtf:
oh! and I have this other friend that I let him hear a demo I made for this club I want to start spinning at, and he's like "man, you're not mixing.... you're doing transitions..." and I'm like "huh?" so he starts explaining "all you did was transitions... I mean, you waited for the breakdown of one track to play the next one... mixing is playing one track, waiting for it to get a little boring, then mixing in the 2nd one, and playing them both simultaniously like their 1 track... then, when the 1st one starts to get melodic again, and the 2nd one is getting boring, you fade out the 2nd, and when the 1st track gets boring again you play a 3rd track and mix it with the 1st track..."
I told him "yeah, ok" but inside I was like :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
anywayz, I gave him a go on my setup a few times.... as expected, his mixes were trainwrecks!!!! he lets me listen to the beatmatch with the headphones..... it was completely off beat!!! and then he tell me "I'm a great DJ, ain't I, Oren?"... :wtf::eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: |

OMG!!!
i also forgot to say:
at school, there's this kid kevin. he is a friend of mine....but doesnt know jack about djing.
there's a party comin up @ school, that i'll get 2 spin for. being my friend, he assumes that he'll get his little chance to dj also....
anytime somebody brings up tha party, kevin has to chime in and say that he'll be mixing with me. he sez that he'll get one table, and i'll get the other. (i've told him countless times that i spin hard trance, and i have no need for some sort of assistant!)
i hope allison (the girl he likes) wears sumthin he thinks is sexy so i can focus on the set, and what vibe tha crowds givin me, and kevin can focus on her...instead of annoyin me! |

| b i n k u n |
you should let this kevin guy have his 10 minutes of fame and dj in front of this girl...but then of course, he'll probably make an ass out of himself and get the crowd pissed off at him. :)
oh wait, u said he was a friend...that's kind of cruel then. :p |
