this is the reason right here..."god"... whatever. the man has little talent compared to so many other artists. he heres all this hype aobut him so then he starts believing it and tries to play the role i.e. controlling what you can and can't buy. |

anyone here ever heard his "rework" of Above and Beyonds mix of Madonna - What it Feels like for a girl??
I can't believe anyone can butcher a track that much (and I've heard Seventh City spin :stongue: )
he changed the bassline a bit, and made the synth really weak......
fecking weirdo  |

| I dunno, maybe it's because he thinks that he isn't altering the track enough to justify releasing it. Makes sense to me. |

Okay. First of all it's HIS music so he can do whatever the hell he wants to do with it. I'm sure he's got his reasons. Second of all, everyone is going on and on today about how much PvD sucks and blah blah blah....but I'd like to see any one of you do what he does :whip: We all have our own preferences when it comes to trance and music and general
GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!
Thanks, and have a nice evening everyone :D |

I don't mean all of those stupid reconstructions he made, even though today they make for about 80% of his 'production' :p

Maybe because he's an artist and doesn't need you to buy his productions. If I produced a track, painting, sculpture, etc. I wouldn't want any Joe Smoe using it; they're my babies. As I'm sure his productions are his babies and he doesn't feel like he has to sell them to you, why should he? If you are an artist you might understand that it's not always about $$$. The ones he does release are probably the ones he think outlived his purpose. |
Lower your tone when speakn' ta me boy:whip: ;)
But seriously, was I ever mentioning money? I'm talking about the fact you have to hear partial stuff, you have to listen to it in awful qualities, where's the fun?
Wait a sec... You can also go get a ticket and see PvD spin! No, no, that can't be the reason, it ain't all about the $$$ is it?:whip: :whip: :whip: |

This is the best post I have read in a long time! (In my opinion of course) Seriously people, can any of you PVD bashers really justify your statements? PVD fans, followers or watever you want to call us...read/listen to his interviews, we pay attention to articles and listen and play his music. He is not in this gig for the money..it's just what he gets paid to do what he loves and make his music. What about all those tracks that the late Tupac Shakur and Kurt Cobain wrote, recorded and performed before their tragic deaths...this music was unreleased...are they arrogant too?! For those who love PVD, we are moved by his music and the music he chooses to play. In this world where being a DJ has become a pastime for kids and grown-ups like Baseball to some, PVD has made a mark and is not goig to let up. He is experimenting with new ways of putting out his music (DVD), he is expanding his talent to the film industry(Zurdo)...He isn't asking for acceptance, he has it...from the masses that flock to his shows. All you PVD bashers are probably there every time! He may not get voted the best DJ in the world ever, but it isn't about that. He is an artist, and if you ever really paid attention to his actions, you will realize that he is uncomfortable in the limelight, so to speak. He comes to clubs, festivals and various venues to spread the music he loves and set the tone for what is in the now in his genre of music. He plays the tracks that become huge on this forum first! ALWAYS! He has produced some of the classiest electronic music tracks ever. He's only 29 years old and has said before, he will do this until it's time...to not do it!
This is my take on it and I am sure there are many that agree and many that disagree. I am not offening anyone and if I have, not my intention...This culture will survive (especially in the United States) if people can learn and practice a sense of respect for those within the culture. |

My 2 cents on the subject....
1stly, what is the point of a remix/remake/re-edit etc???? isnt it just a personal version of someone else's track? PvD likes his tracks with that bass line, so he makes re-edits with that bass line... so all PvD re-dits etc are his version of the tracks he likes..
Im sure u all have a track out there when u listen to u say, ohh this would be better if it had this sample in it, or this bass line, or these sort of beats... watever... so yeah.. I rekon this is just PvD's personal versions of tracks he likes...
2ndly alot of ppl saying he does it for the love of the music etc etc... now dont get me wrong, im a huge PvD Fan... But umm he doesnt like the idea of MP3's... which sort of confuses me... Ok he does it for the love, im sure he also does it for the $$$ i mean we all love the music, but im sure the $$$ is just as sweet.
My 2 Cents... didnt mean to break any hearts, just expressing an opinion...

taken from one of the interview:
Q: Some of these cities that you mention have been featured in the Global Underground series, do you plan on doing one in the future?
Hmm... Actually there is another project coming up between now and the end of the year. It's not with GU, it is with one of the other global players in the business of compilations. But it is not just purely a mix CD and it is not about 1 club in 1 town and/or 1 DJ like GU... this will be a merger of a DJ mix CD with the music of other people and a remix album as well as an artist album. So let's say there is a track that I like, and if the track just does not fit the way it is on the spot, I'll remix it so it fits. And things like that -- a lot of things to do and we hope to get that started pretty soon, and it looks like it will be out in October. |
