You have a point there. Although there are exeptions, most PvD addicts are 20-ish.
When you get older trends and hypes don't do much to you anymore. Quality becomes more important and you learn how to really appreciate music. |
Exactly! I couldn't have said it any better.. i have listened PvD since '94 and i have always followed my own path. I have liked most of his tunes very much since the beginning, but i still din't feel the need to flame someone who doesn't. Everyone can have their own opinions. |

PvD is considered by many TAs to be the #1 DJ. they have their reasons. you might consider other ppl's opinions that are opposed to PvD wrong or wutever. but they are opinions. opinions can be argued. that's it.
neo geo, i'm sorry but that post was both ignorant and disrespectful. come on. read it over yourself and tell me otherwise.
the bottom line is that everyone has different tastes, i think we all get caught up in defending our "fav" that we forget that sometime. so other ppl disagree with you. don't take it so personally. we all know and respect PvD for what he's done or has been doing. if ppl don't agree with your opinion of him, boo-in-hoo. suck it up. |

ok...so why does it confuse you that he doesn't like mp3s? no matter what way you look at it if you download an mp3 of a song and dont buy the single or the album or the vinyl or whatever, you are effectively robbing them of the income that they would have gotten if you bought the music. if hes making a living out of producing music and djing, why shouldn't he be upset that people are ripping him off when they like the music as much as everyone else but they dont think they should pay for it? whats wrong with making money from it anyway? hes got bills to pay lol :p of course the $$$ would be sweet, but so what? im not saying he should start getting cheap and greedy and i hope that doesnt happen but if he makes money from doing what he loves and people steal that away from him i can see why he wouldn't love mp3s like most of us do! :) |
Well i wasnt saying he should love MP3's... Ofcourse its robbery.. If PvD Released alot of his tracks we would go out and by them. BT has a different opinion on the subject... this makes me want to go out and buy his stuff more. All im saying is that i would like the $$$ too but i would still spin for free given the opportunity. |

LOL, I guess 16-18 year olds suck eh? ::haha:
Either we do like PvD which means we are s following the trend or we don't like him which means we are uneducated twats who haven't been here around long enough to appreciate quality.
PvD Priests = Prog Priests
Nothing against PvD, but I don't thing you guyz need to complain about prog 'followers' patronizing others. |

Paul uses Pro-Logic.
The way I see it, the more people hate Paul there is an equal, if not greater, amount of people that love him. This post alone probably interested someone enough to listen to Paul's music more to see what the big fuss is about. And you know what? That person probably enjoyed it. Thanks for indirectly supporting God.
As for his reworks and his re-edits, I think it's a brilliant idea. I doubt Paul was the one who was the first to edit a track to fit his sets and style of music. Many DJs edit tracks for gigging. Some DJs trim the tracks to desired cue points for faster mixing. Some, like, Paul edit out parts he doesn't like. I do it because I have a certain sound I want to bring to my audience. He doesn't claim originality in doing such a thing.
Besides his many reworks and reedits, Paul is busy:
1. Originally producing a soundtrack for a Mexican movie.
2. Originally producing his 4th album.
3. Finish his DVD which features 5.1 sound technology and reworking his older track.
4. Working with an orchestra in Australia to produce a track that starts out a classical piece which turns into an electronic dance track.
5. Getting licenses for VDT2.
6. Managing his record label.
7. DJing every weekend.
8. Wednesday night radioshow.
9. ... while spending time with his family.
Cut the man some slack. |
