I think it is an unwritten rule of DJing that you should not mix 2 tracks by the same artist in a row, ever. Unless you are doing a DJ TIESTO TRIBUTE MIX or something of the sorts. They sound good together because they were made by the same person, usually around the same time, you hack.
I feel guilty when I mix something which has the same record label as the last track but sometimes it's not worth passing that particular mix.

i think it depends more on the sounds than the name. i wouldnt play two tracks by the digital blonde in a row because they sound too similar but slightly different. but if the tracks sound different and you wouldn't obviously know by listening well who cares? :) |
