I was wondering if anyone could help me,
Ive been trying to link my decks into my pc so i can record a set on mp3 for this competition.
In the back of the mixer i link my sound system by connecting it to master.
There is another connecter next to this which i put a lead into and then connected it into the mic on the back of my pc.
My booth dial on my mixer now controls the volume it comes out of my pc.
It sound fine playing through my pc, sound system or both no problems.
But when i record on my pc it sounds fine the sound is good quality, but when i play the recorded sound back on my pc its a bit distorted and really fast about 10x or more the speed it was recorded.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it something to do with my sound card?

Thanks

what program are you recording with? how fast is your cpu? mac, pc, or linux? type of card? enough RAM? recording settings? etc.

Mixes must be submitted in 160kbps Mp3 quality, CBR or VBR, no Mp3-Pro files are allowed.

What the hell is CBR or VBR?
mr_sick
Constant bitrate or variable bitrate i suppose

so is it still mp3 ?

I tried using sound recorder just to see if it works, and when it didn't I tried sound forge but still the same results. Im using a pc, not sure what my sound card is but I bought my pc brand new about two years ago so its quite good, ive never had any problems with it, the sound when its playing through the speakers is perfect.
I have a 700mhz processor and 128Mb RAM.
I had a look through the recording settings and there was nothing obvious like things on mute, so i dont know why its doing it

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

106min mix OK?

here's your answer:

Mixes must be at least 60 minutes in length, a maximum of about 80, but if its 90 it ain't important, just no 3 hour sets, etc.

prefferably less, and your mix should be for the competition only, not to have been done already. i suggest you do another shorter mix about 70 minutes, because you can bet your bottom dollar it will be deleted off the server at that size

ok, so how do i go about actually uploading the mix?
t0ast!
I've PM'd the server details to Project-T...you can ask him (or any other judge) for the logon info.

One piece of advice to all competitors....turn on Passive (PASV) mode in your FTP clients when uploading. It help you get around all sorts of firewall wonkyness.

If there are ANY problems uploading, etc, PM ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so I can fix them.

cheers!
