so my sis has two spoiled rotten ing brat kids (so cute though) and i'm not the type of aunt (or person in general) to just buy a bunch of meaningless toys and ship them off all the time or be known as the aunt who always has gifts because quite frankly, those kids need another toy like they need a hole in the head and i just refuse to spend my money on GARBAGE that they won't play with or even if they do play with it, they have a MILLION toys already.
but sometimes i feel guilty that i don't send them stuff all the time or whatever. am i supposed to? they are 2 and 4 and have enough toys to supply a 3rd world country with. and my sister does a ty, half assed job at raising them and i just don't respect her or anything that she does with them. i know that i'll have a chance to "shine" or make more of an impression when they are older and can visit me sorta thing. but for now, i don't really play a huge role in their life or buy them crap all the time.
i mean honestly, when i visit her, the kids just want to go outside and play with a ball and be active and i think they appreciate that so much more that i get off my ass and take them for walks and play with them outside. my sister is fat and lazy and likes to plop them in front of the tube and buy them toys, so she can carry out her own selfish agenda.
i guess i'm saying that sometimes i feel guilty for not really buying my neice and nephew toys all the time or playing a big role in their life because they live far and i can't stand the way my sister raises them etc.. |

| Honestly...do whatever feels like the right thing for you to do. I mean, you have to evaluate what family means to you, and what it means to be a good family member/aunt/whatever. If that includes buying them , then do it. |

I see my niece and nephew about once or twice a year... I ignore their existence when I do see them, but yet they really like me and supposedly ask about me all the time.
This goes back to the whole 'I don't like kids' thing, I guess. |

anyway i love kids and i'm great with them.
jenny i see your point. all the kids know of me is what i can send them now because they live far. so i guess i should start buying them little things or something once in a while...i dunno. it's like, "here's a useless toy you won't remember or play with longer than a week" lol |

Sorta like how being fake-bi is in?
I dunno, I've never liked kids even when I was a kid. I wanted to play by myself to talk to the parents of my friends because I thought their stories were more interesting. |
