I've got an MZ-R90.
I like minidisc players because they're SMALL. I can fit this one and 3 discs in my pocket. The MP3/CD players are great, but they're still not as convenient (and also they can't record!!)
Downtown as in south of Bloor, or downtown as in south of Markham? :p |

all u 350 owners get with the times :p
<---proud of owner of the slimx 400 :D
As far as MD players are concerned; they're not bad. Their size is the only thing that's really going for them imo... |

As far as I know, 400 doesn't have any huge improvements over 350... it's basically the same thing, same size/weight, only $100 more expensive.
Now, you might look into these 2 beauties... the size of a lighter, and the capacity of 512MB!

And then tell me to get with the times! Hehehee... |

This thingie looks very very intersting.. I wonder how much it's going to cost... If it's anything less than $200(very very unlikely) I might buy one of those.. First on my list of "to buy" things though, is a decent set of headphones. |

Get an MD.
MP3 players are junk, these things boast about having 17 hours of playback with 512 MB of memory - for this they'd have to be encoded at 64 kbps, which is horrible quality. Triple that and you have decent quality, which gives you less than 6 hours of playback. This is like having one of those 6-disc CD changers, anyone remember how irritating it is to change the discs all the time once you get bored?
MP3 players could be awesome devices if they could perfect the whole flash memory business and put say, 5 or 10 gigs on it. But they aren't at that stage yet. Though they have come a long way since the original 64 meg players.
With an MD you just buy as many miniscule discs as you want and take the ones with that you feel like listening to. And if you're going on a long trip, you can bring more than 6 hours worth of good music with. |

thats what i was thinking too, but i heard that the drawback of MD is that it only records real time? |
