I actually like to dress up a bit more than usual when i go to a club. Moreover, I hate it when peeps dress up in clubbing clothes for school or work - that really pisses me off and I see that alot at my university because that the theme there. But that doesn't mean I like slutty looking girls. I prefer nice clothes (not skin) and as little make up as possible. I rarely hit on girls in clubs anyway (and not much at all ;) ). I don't condone use of cheesy pickup lines, but offering a drink I think is legit (as long as the offerer isn't too aggressive afterwards thinking he ownz the offerree). After all, it's quite hard for us guys when it's our move (just giving a gurl a frisk stare won't do).

What I hate the most is that in some clubs if you want to pick up a girl you have to smootch her and dance seductively (which I can't do for ) and then start touching and kissing her. If I just come to a girl and try to start talking she'd look at me like i'm extraterrestrial or something.

But again, this all depends on the club you go to. Different clubs have different crowds and I have found a select few which I love - good music and nice, friendly ppl.

Sheesh... like anyone is going to read all this e....

Apparently part of my statement was misinterpreted. I dress nicer at clubs too (at least, when I actually have my nice clothes in town with me). But I don't wear tank tops and leather pants and gel my hair and look sleazy - I just wear nicer-than-normal stuff.

To me there's a difference between dressing "nice" and dressing "slutty." I see a lot of girls in clubs and in others places who are well dressed, and I'm all for that! I don't go for the track pants and sweatshirt look, believe me. Also, even though I don't associate with them personally, I have no problem with girls who dress scantily if they're actually looking for sex and/or sexual attention.

My problem is with the girls who dress like sluts and then complain about the kind of attention they get. There are all kinds of fashions out there for girls that are not slutty. The ones shown in Maxim magazine are for guys to ogle, not admire.

Missed that the first read - very well said. This kind of pickup behaviour is encouraged in most clubs. Those of us who try to actually talk to a girl end up being rejected far more often than the ones who just act like sleaze.

I experimented on this once. I went to the same club on the same day of the week two weeks in a row. The first week I did the bump 'n grind routine, and I'd say about 9/10 girls went with it. The second week I said "hello" or "how's it going" to the girls, and about 9/10 didn't respond at all. (And no, I did not interact with the same girls each week).

Can't argue with the facts.

I actually borrowed the Listerine bottle costume and a Dr. Seuss hat. You'd be amazed how many girls think that's sexy.

Why would you say that just because a chick dresses up, she's looking for attention or wants to get hit on? Let's face it, some chicks want to look nice when they go out because they just want to look nice for themselves. I like to dress up when I go out to dinner not because I want to attract chicks but because it feels nice to be somewhat stylish sometimes instead of wearing the usual grub gear all the time. Same thing applies to going out clubbing. Trust me, I'm all about wearing whatever suits your mood but why stereotype all the chicks who dress nicely? For me it's a nice departure from the rave scene.
