Tiesto without a doubt :o
Ferry = anthem after anthem after anthem, the end.
Tiesto = always evolving, likes to experiment and change style, sets trends, best "showman" dj, nice contrasts in his mixing
Tiesto has contributed a lot to the scene, be it with his productions, remixes or mix albums (magiks and ISOS's).
Oh an Ligaya sucked....
Having said that I still love Ferry and the majority of his tunes....a d his energy 2000 set is surely amongst my fav. sets ever

I dont even no how tiesto made it into mixmags top 100 let alone number 1. he is a disgrace to the trance scene. i dont no how but before 2001 his mixing was amazing and he actually put effort into it. past 2001 his mixing has become dire, pathetic and just generally . The most ironic transition i ever heard was at crasher when tiesto trainwrecked from GTR - Mistral into Urban Train

When it comes to producing, I think Ferry is a much better songwriter, while Tijs is a better Remixer. As far as I know, when they were together with Gouryella, Ferry came up with the tunes and the basslines, while Tijs worked on the structure and added his Magik touch to really make the song special. Don't get me wrong, Ferry's Remixes and Tijs' original tracks are great too. I'm not counting collaborations either, just their own producing.
When it comes to DJing, I think now they're styles are so different, it's really impossible to compare. I personally prefer Ferry's. |
