No one's better than anyone. Why do you talk about trance as if it were a sport or a beauty contest? Jesus, there are way too many immature underage people on TA.
I've said this a million times and i have to say it again: Trance is music, music is art, the appreciation of art is completely subjective and can't be empiricized in any way. You can only talk about who YOU like better.
I personally like Tiesto better because his music, diversity of style, and ability to make contrasts has more depth and is more profound than any other dutch trance dj out there. Sure, he can't beatmatch as good as Ferry, but that's it.
Ferry's production are rarely innovative, they follow the same old hands in the air stale cookie cutter formula that is anachronistic nowadays. I haven't heard anything interesting produced by Ferry since Punk. His other productions since might have been decent, but they lack artistic depth.
Tiesto is the innovator and experimentalist of the bunch. He has impeccable taste and sheer class that Armin and Ferry can only dream of. After living 6 months in Holland and seeing this 3 djs over and over again Tiesto's the only one that keeps interesting me, his creativity is unlike anyone else's in the trance scene. Shame on those who can't acknowledge that. ;) |

hmmmm i have to disagree here as ferry has always managed to make some quite diverse stuff especially if u listen to his older works and his newer stuff to be out on his forthcoming album should be very interesting as he will be making breakbeat tracks and also tunes in a similar style to punk oh yeh and do u remember insolation and savannah nice chillout tracks but of course we all remember tiesto making tunes like these dont we . Since i can only have my opinion on the subject my opinion is although ferry makes a lot of tracks to a formula they are all nice to listen to whereas a lot of tiesto's new stuff sucks ballz he is very hit and miss. As far as set depth goes u seen ferry lately he has been varying a lot but unlike tiesto's he actually builds a set not just plays a tunes in a random order that loses interest and direction, of course this is only my opinion u can say tiesto is better if u like but i believe its all blind devotion. |

for s sake! When will you guys finally learn to accept other people's views? Of course, loving Armin shows your knowledge in music but loving Tiesto is just "blind devotion" or "bandwagon mentality" and what not. And every ManU fan is a glory hunter, right? As for building sets....some of his sets are indeed a random compilation of tracks, but others like the infamous Innercity set, energy 2000 or Magik 6 should be listened by EVERYone who considers starting to DJ. Those are milestones as far as "journeys" go, unparalleled until today. |

Magik 6 was a commercial CD, the tracklist will not have been picked by him through choice, rather dictated to by other labels.
Also all these sets you mention are old, kind of defeating your argument... |

It's funny how the good well structured sets u mention are from 2000 when tiesto was very good but i'm talking present day i mean i don't have a flying delorian to go and see him in 2000 so seing him now is all i can do and now he is very random and plays e in my opinion. |
