Wow. What an amazing night. Probably one of (if not) THE BEST vibe i've seen at the Guv.
3 good things to say:
- Excellent choons. I'm not even that much of a prog fan, but Sasha really shone.
- Very good human traffic controls by the Guv. Everyone kept moving and aside from the stairs to the Gold club, it was VERY well handled.
- TOTA crew dancing up a storm and representing Toronto to the fullest.
3 bad things:
- Disgusting humidity-rain coming off the roof in the KH during Ferry. I felt like I was at Rain in Vegas, but not in a good way.
- As always, a bunch of juicebags sweating up a storm and brushing up against me.
- Treble during Ferry's set was too high. I still can't hear well out of my right ear in particular
Anyhow...those of you that missed it, can't begin to imagine what you missed. :eyespop: |

| WOW! WOW! What's left to say that hasn't been said already? Sasha completely ing ruled! Unkle - In A State (Sasha Mix) OMG! Techno addict comes out of NOWHERE one track before Sasha drops it. Told you it would be good!:p My friends had a really cool time, thanks to all of you guys! You rocK! TOTA Vibe forever.:) SHoutouts to the usual crew and to the new people I met, Loca, Marg's friend Marg! and others. Ferry's set was good, reminded me of his set last at Ultraspin. I heard he opened with Boss@Nova - Stone Cold? If that's true someone shoot me now. I LOVE that tune...been looking for it everywhere. On to PvD/Armin weekend. If I come to Dumonde it will be for the TOTA winner's, have work the next day at 8am. (I'll try and stay later). |

The night was absolutely incredible, it wasn't extremely overcrowded but it was pretty packed.
Ferry Corsten threw down a really energetic set, he really worked the crowd good, only if it wasn't for those annoyingly high treble levels..
However, the best part for me was Sasha. I thought his set was outstanding because it was so diverse. Just amazing!!
Btw, could anyone tell me the name of a song Sasha played. I think it was in the beginning maybe his 4th or 5th song, it had a really high treble, dreamy, happy melody..that's pretty much what i can remember, all i know is that it was amazing!
Hopefully, there's many more parties like this to come! |

^^^^Get his Creamfields Essential Mix and a lot of the tracks he played last night were the same ones he dropped in the EM. Cheers

Review.
I made the trip down to Ottawa, made it just in time for my interview with Hybrid which took about 20 min, and went very well. Luckily I met up with TAT girl and we went to the Irish pub where I got to meet with Ferry and a e load of awesome TA's from Toronto, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Philly, Ottawa and Washington. It was nuts. Interview with Ferry was rushed as well as his meet but his manager (thank god) put me on the media list. This is where the fun begins.
VIP line up, took about as long as regular, but I met up with everyone shortly after.
HOT outdoor DJ spinning funky house, oh yea.
Bass Bin twins rocked! As did DJ Dan, I couldn't stop dancing to him.
Sasha sucked as usual, but I don't like prog and his room was nuts absolutely packed. had to wait forever to get in and take crappy pics because no flash of him. Then went and saw Hybrid who were awesome. Went to Ferry, heard Benny B satisfaction just b4 he went on, awesome. went up behind for entirety of Ferry's set which was awesome. Ferry killed the competition and is becoming one of the best dj's known!
Hung out with his european friend there and then ferry got shut down, oh man, so he went up to Sky Bar and hung out for a bit. Hes more down to earth than a ing worm man! Anyways, so many pics and videos, I wanna post somewhere and get them up on a website!
Got home and slept.
Overall review of the guv for first time! 10/10 I had the best night of my 22 year life...so far!

- Ferry picked a incredible playlist. Beautiful/uplifting - just how I like it
- All the good TAs made the night a blast - see you @ dumonde
- Charles@guv: Your team did a good job. Thanks!

Well me and a friend got there around 8.30, pissed that we didnt make the meetup..especially since Ferry was there. we took a GO bus and that was the latest we could get there without makin it at 11.00..so we waited an hour...but we saved on the lineup:)...Strech and Hooker were in the KH and seemed a lil slow to start. The music was highly progressive and there were a couple of errors, slight ones yet errors. As their set grew to a close tho they had gotten considerably harder and were now playing "tech-house" (thanks jason)...Dj Dan took over next and i was realllly lookin forward to it thanks to multiple good reviews on his skills. He Did not disappoint, going hard for a solid 3 hours...it was a style of house id never heard before tonight....but now i love it...TECH HOUSE ALL THE WAY:)....amazing stuff..sweet dreams is just a highlight.
Checked sasha out for 20 mins or so...was amazing. Wanted to stay more but Ferry Corsten awaited. THe Bassbin twins were........pleasantly surprising....as much as i disagree with breaks of DnB being thrown in after a solid 4 hours or so of hard tech trance, it grew on me...tho that MC needsa beating...ill give them a 7/10. ahh and then it came...the moment I had been waiting for....FERRY!!!! Ferry was amazing....played a solid mixture of harder uplifting trance. No cheese:). AND THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can you spell P-U-N-K!!!!!!!!! TY so much ferry for that. When the chorus dropped for the first time i felt like i was in guvy heaven. Around 6 we left for the skybar and Mark Oliver's 4 hour early morning summer send away. I heard ferry played till like 7.50 or 8 which sux cuz that means we coulda grabbed atleast another 1 hour of his tunes...Back to the skybar...the setting was all i thought it would be...refreshing. Vibe was picking up slowly through the first hour as mark spun solid progressive. Took some time to rest the legs. around 8 mark kicked it up a notch and i was dancing hard again:)...THEN the biggest surprise as Ferry came up to the skybar and behaved just like another partier fresh from a long nights dancing ( in his case spinning). So i got to personally thank him for dropping Punk. (he musta seen my request on his msg boards:p)...bloody annoying there was nothing on me that he could sign..remind me to take an autographable item to armins party incase mr van buuren decides to emulate his Dutch brother by coming amongst the general public to sign autopgraphs. Well by this point the vibe had REALLY picked up and for a solid 15 mins we danced as mark played (he got more energized as he went along). Then suddenly out of the blue...i was hearing This is the End by tube tech and the night came to an end. Was a lil surprised..was expecting and hoping that it would go to 10 ...maybe even lil longer. Mark thanked his loyal fans and supporters for coming out and making LABOUR of Love 2003 a massive success..which it was...GJ everyone who enjoyed themselves and partied safe(rofl @ safe)...and congratulations to the guvernment on analyzing what went wrong last year and making sure it didnt happen again this year.
I realized a few things tonight...The guvernment is a special place (always knew this, i just hold it in firmer belief now). We as regular patrons of the guvernment are INCREDIBLY lucky to have this venue to explore and quench our thirst for music.
rating 11/10
Shoutouts: Tha Broad, Tatgirl, Ukranianstud, maxtuh, ummm god im bad at this...bunch of others...techno addict, desidel, lil kandi and more:).....ooh anincase he reads this....FERRRY!!!:) (god i need sleep)
Notes =
- Nismo budddy...missed ya badly man
- The Kool Haus gets better everytime i go there
