Review: Labour of Love (pg. 5)

Insane weekend...
So It's Monday afternoon @ I'm at work still wondering what is it that I usually do at this job. :crazy:
First of all, I have to congratulate the guv management & staff for a great plan on this year's labour of love. As people have already mentioned, it was crowded but berable, it was hot in some places (main room!) but there were enough places around the building where one could cool off. 10x times better than last year!
Tordan, LoCa and I were lucky enough to catch Ferry a few minutes before he left the pre-meet up. This was a great start to the night. Thanks to all who made this possible.
Thankfully we made the smart move to go to the party early and were able to get in really quickly. Chilled at the KH for a while then moved to the guv to catch Sasha's set. This was my first time listening to Sasha live & wow, what can I say, as a DJ, he really deserves the position he's at now. Really great mixing (for my untrain ears), awsome track selection. I must have asked half of the guv if they recognized the tracks being dropped. While we were on stage, we were treated with an Aerobics Class by tha_broad - I lost 10lbs trying to follow :stongue:. We moved to the KH for Ferry and got greeted by the Bassbin Twins on stage, as everyone else, I could not wait for them to get off the stage!! I felt like I was at an all ages club. MC'in at an event like this? No good :rolleyes: Anyways, Ferry came on and made it all better .. awsome awsome set, full of energy & melody. Couldn't believe he dropped Mike Shiver - feelings, I was so happy I could finally hear it live on a big system. 7:00am, we all jetted to the skybar to hear Toronto's DJ, Mark Oliver to slowly float down from the experience. Ferry then joined the die hard crowd, Sweeeeeeet way to end the night.

and the new ones I met, hope to see you all at the next party. Thanks to Marg and Ray for having us all afterwards.
Can't wait for the tracklists & more pictures to see how beyond ed up I look even though I was sober (at the time :p)
All in all, an awsome end to the summer and to a crazy weekend. :crazy: |

Im so glad you enjoyed the class. I hold them at every party I go to and I really appreciate thepositive feedback. Thanx for taking part! Thankx to all who took part...I did notice one person missing tho.....ah well, maybe shell join us next time

lol, the scariest thing, is that I barely remember anything from the party. I know it was very well organized, I know I was partying my ass off and loved every minute of it; but I can't seem to recall any particular moments where I was completely blown away. I barely remember Sasha playing Ride, and I'm addicted to this song like a whore is to crack.
Good night tho...unbelievable night...probably the best party I've been to thus far. |

You probably saw me....I was wearing a blue Tommy plaid shirt with glasses and short brown hair (not that you'll remember me;) My friend and I were out talking to Sydney Blue sometime around 12:30 or so and you walked right past me. About the meetup though...you should have seen me with my friends...I was freaking out on them to the point where I had to apologise.:(
I'll be hitting up more parties in TO for sure though.....:D |

First of all I have to shout out to all the TA's that made it possible for me to even get to see Ferry(who rocked).... I am really glad I didn't miss this party, it was definetly a 10/10.... It was very very much appreciated....
Now on to the night.........
Had the chance to meet Ferry at Fionn and got a laugh (Thank you Dallas)...
Got to the Guv and waited about 10-20 to get in..
Inside met up with some more TA's inside KH..
Took a walk around checked out some of the rooms..
Sasha was wicked, I loved his set...
Did a little aerobics with Broad on the stage where the TA's took over..(hahahahaha)
Unfortunetly I missed Andy C(I wanted to see him, last saw him at the Docks a year ago)
Best part of the night was getting into KH and dancin to the beats of Ferry... He rocked.... Everything that went across those tables by him were wikkid.....
At around 7 or so I went up to KH and was able to chill listen, to the res there and just chat with the TA's..
Finally the night ended after chillin at Marg's for an after party...(thanx)
I have to shout out to all th TA's(and none TA's) that I met... You guys put out a good vibe and i'm glad to have met you all....
I definetly wanna chill with you all again and hopefully I will on Friday... :tongue3
Final thought; Thanx to the Guv... Although it was a little crowded, the ceiling kept raining down on me, and that chick actually pushed me out of the way on the stage(so she could get to the edge and dance) :whip: but its all good cause I had a wikkid time anyways...
All in all it was a wikkid night... The perfect end to a good summer... |
