they say it should be 6 inches to do it, cuz more to backcomb
the wax was just for the tips so it doesn't come undone, they take care of theirselves after that, don't have to do anything at all
and everyone things dreads are dirty, cuz when they became popular in the 60's, jamacians didn't have showers
i wash mine every day, and it's actually better for them, and your scalp. |

| I've herd that they need to be bleached, is this true? I can't imagine how long it would take to wash them, my rat tail takes a whole min, and it is just long hair. (I need to grow it thicker, cause it is getting thin.) |

no, they recommend bleaching them before you get them dreaded, it helps destroy and tangle your hair more. not required though, i didn't do it.
some people bleech, then dye their hair back to the origional color, but theres a risk of not matching it, and having a stripe when it grows in |

yes, but also heard that if you start early, like at 3-4 inches, it helps them to tangle more.
bleaching does play tricks with your hair because, well, it kills the pigmentation.
there are many stereotypes associated with dreads, but people who believe them are ignorant. |
