Robert Miles: Children? Good song, for being 7 years old....i heard a Gatecrasher remix which was very good...i wonder if Wipeout Fusion for PS2 also has trance trackx on it??? i like the racing in Wipeout, but of course it was the music that i loved...Sasha: Xpander forever baby!!! LOV that song, still, even to this day. :) Dance music was pretty cool, even back in '97, with songs like Everythign but the girl: Missing you, Livin' Joy: Dreamer, Amber: This is your night, and countless others....even the song from A night at the Roxbury, What is love from...err.what's his name?? LOL

Ahh yes, Hackers...classic movie, with old school techno/trance. Began with Orbital: Halcyon + on + on, which was also in MK, some songs by Prodigy, like Voodoo People....dont know the rest. i never got my hands on any of the cd soundtracks....i did listen to a friends copy of the Hackers 2 CD and heard BT: Remember, which was very good. i think Jan Johnston did the vocals for that song?? she is so beautiful and her voice is equally beautiful.....Flesh (DJ Tiësto remix) may be old but it still kickx arse ;)

Same here... I was 10 years old I think, and I was just discovering the world of music... and I heard that song and fell in love. From then I've got into trance more and more.

I first started out by listening to some early electronic music from artists like Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. Then I moved on to happy hardcore and eurodance (I still have both Dune albums on my HD :) ). A bit later I started listening to things like Prodigy and other oldschool bands. Then after a short Thunderdome/Terrordome phase I heard a friend's trance compilation cd and then I became hooked. It was, oh, almost 8 years ago.

Let's see...

Started with Disco -- Pet Shop Boys in 1986 and my "dance" liking went from there...

My first vinyl was PSB - Introspective in 1988...I now have every full length CD of theirs, plus various singles, vinyls and b-sides.

Continuing to 1994 I got my first "Eurodance" stuff...primarily Dj Club Mix series out of In Da Mix Studios -- Canada....w00t @ Wood Allen feat Hardnoise -- Co-Imperial....15 volumes of those...hhmm...

Then got into Goa, early Astral Projection, Man with no name...etc...a little mainstream electronica...prodigy and the sorts. Underground and hardcore...joey beltram, beatz, etc.

Finally to trance...it's simply good stuff. Although I can't say I like it any better than quality D&B, or some other forms of "electronica", or jazz and uptempo latin for that matter.

blah blah blah...i'm old.

Oh and yeah...I have MORTAL KOMBAT!!!! too.:stongue: :toothless

Hehe...cool to see some ppl who still love Mortal Kombat. i havent played the newest games....i kinda like the old school ones....MK 1 was the only one with any techno on it. At least the Sega CD version, which was one of the best...it even had the video from the commercial. the kid in the street yelling "Mortal Kombat!" "Test your might!" I have MK I and II on MAME emulator and it is arcade perfect. unfortunately, its on my other computer, which is down at the moment.

there is one other thing i wanted to say about trance. before i got into it, i had another thing i really liked. wrestling. yea i know its fake but for me its a soap. its fun to watch. but anyway my point is this: i have been watching wrestling for 19 years....and i have listening to trance for 4 years. wrestling events, i rarely go to, but trance events...well, i only go to big events, like Paul van Dyk Tiësto, etc. i love wrestling but i love trance a lot more. its crazy: how i love wrestling for so long and now i love trance more than wrestling, and i havent been into trance as long as i have been in wrestling. on 6/20/03, there were 2 different events goin down in the same night: 1. MLW (major league wrestling) at the Fort Lauderdale War Memorial. and 2. Paul van Dyk @ Space34. which one do you think i picked? i picked Paul van Dyk without any conflict. i was sure i wanted to go. and i did, and had a great time :)
