How you got into Trance

I got into trance, primarily in '99, but could say I started to like it as far back as '93, when Mortal Kombat 1 the movie came out. The song when Liu kang fought Reptile. Traci Lords - Control (Juno Reactor instrumental mix) and Orbital - Halcyon + on + on. After that, I was stickin mainly to rock/metal but not too deep. Then I saw the tv commercial for Wipeout 3 for Playstation. I heard a certain song in the commercial and decided that, even if it was only for the music in the game, i would buy it, and i did. shelled out $50, which i still DO NOT regret to this day :D because of Wipeout 3, i discovered Sasha, Paul van Dyk and Underworld. From then on, I've been finding more and more songs/livesets/artists that i like, including Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, BT, Johan Gielen, Marco V, Paul Oakenfold, and others...that game changed my life and outlook on music forever.

The old MK theme song from the commercial and the SEGA CD version is like an old school techno....but it was the blood gore and violence and Scorpion's saying "Get over here!!" that roped me in. I loved the MK movie so much i bought the CD soundtrack and still have it. Orbital - Halcyon + on + on is a great mellow mood song....

yea the reptile scene is so badass
DarkAngel
Yeah, that was Control....really good song for a really good fight scene. What'd you think about Traci Lord's other song Fallen Angel, from the Denzel Washington movie Virtuosity? That was a really good song too....that was from a club scene....

I got into it by playing around on Napster. filesharing is a bad thing tho, right?
