-steve hill UK hardhouse all the way

-JP, first dutch dj who will play at the hardhouse acedamy in london. since he is the first one i have nothing to add. One of hollands most technical djs for sure!!!
-Danny D, nice guy always the first one to reply in the tom harding forum. he will do the opening set. he is a really good warming up dj

the line up for the old hall isnt announced yet or maybe the old hall will be closed since there are so many events that week.

The nice things when you are at a HQ party is that the atmosphere is trully wicked. VERY VERY nice people from all walks of life who are having the best night ever

HQ is a harddance party which is held every last friday of the month in the melkweg. HQ also hosts the harddance stage @ dance valley, impulz 4 elements.

Can you buy tickets at the door for the HQ party?

basvh
Damn i wished i could go to HQ in ocotober but i got exams!!!!

But anyway yes you can buy tickets at the door if there are not sold out. but you can buy tickets at TICKET SERVICE and all GWK shops
since it is the the 100th edtion of HQ there is a big chance it will be sold out. But the 2 weeks before HQ there are also big hardhouse partys. SO maybe it wont sell out and you can buy them at the door itself. But dont say i didnt warn you when you standing there at the door with no tickets! The melkweg is most of the day opened so if you go there in the afternoon you can buy tickets. You also have to buy a Melkweg member card. that cost about 2 euro i think. the tickets are about 16 euros.

Today I got a email from HQ with some HQ september info. I post it here since much of the history of hq is described!

HQ Friday 26th of September 2003

21.00-06.00

Max Hall

Tom Harding, Dave Randall, Sterling Moss, JP & Rossi

Old Hall

HQ Techno Classics with Billy Nasty & Paul Jay

After 99 editions, almost 9 years of hq parties, High Quality the club that brought harddance and quality techno to the Netherlands is set to bring you the first installment of the 100th edition of hq to celebrate this; HQ are having two nights at the Melkweg spread over two months with an extra late closing time of 6am!!!.

For the first installment we have a line up that truly represents the early history of HQ at the Melkweg. We see the return of HQ legends Dave Randall & Sterling Moss,to join the long term residents Tom Harding ,JP and Rossi for night of full on HQ classics from the beginning of HQ to the present in the max. In the old hall we see the return of techno hero Billy Nasty and hollands Paul Jay for a set of HQ techno classics. In october HQ will bring you the, what we think, are the hottest names in the most recent times of HQ, with a line up that is truly HQ, Lab4 live!!! dj Scot Project, Steve Hill, Tom Harding, Danny D...and more tbc... watch this space.

Billy Nasty
Billy played at the very first edtion of High Quality in the Melkweg 9 years ago on queensday.Billy was famous then from his pumping underground set across the globe, before the barriers between, techno, progressive, house, trance and rave music were invented, a pure party dj. When Billy played at the first HQ party, Billy let some of the HQ crew take his records to Melkweg by boat whilst Billy went to enjoy Amsterdam on queensday. As the HQ crew went through amsterdam on a very old and overloaded boat, what happened next, has turned in to classic HQ story. On the way to the Melkweg, the boat sunk to the bottom of the canal with most of the HQ crew and Billys records on board!!! Every body managed to swim to saftey and nobody was hurt." But what about Billys records!!". One member of the creW shouted the other" he has to play at midnigth and his records are at the bottom of the canal, we got to get them!!!!" He took a deep breath, dived back in, to the bottom to the canal, ! found Billys records and brought them back. At this point everybody was very happy that nobody was hurt, but Billys records were damaged almost beyond repair. So the HQ crew made their way to the Melkweg, went in to the dressing room in the back of old hall and very carefuly cut Billys records from out of there covers, dryed them all with an hair dryer very carefully. In the mean time other members of the HQ crew went searching for old records in the queensday market, after an hour of searching they had enough old records covers to return to the Melkweg. Then the HQ crew had to re write all the titles on all the old record covers, so Billy would know his records. After nearly 3 hours, Billy arrived at the Melkweg to look for his records, in a diffrrent flight case in different record covers from the 50,s to the 80s!! Billy being a pure professional, said "no problem", went and did a mind blowing dj set with no problems at all. A true HQ legend.

Sterling Moss
Another HQ star, James Moss is without a doubt one of the best hard djs on the planet, his decks 'n' fx sets have turned him to a star across the globe. He is the one the 3 djs along side Tom Harding and JP that has the honor of closing the max hall. In terms of technique, Moss is in a leauge of his own, using elements from every style of hard dance.

Paul Jay
Another dj from the very first HQ line up. One of the founders of HQ and early resident dj. When techno was the ruling force in the old hall, he was cruicial in bringing some of the now biggest names in the worldwide techno scene for example, Adam Beyer, dj Rush, the Advent live, Darren Emerson, a true pioneer of the Amsterdam techno scene.

Dave Randall
One of the orignal pioneers of hard house, Dave was resident at the legendary trade in London, from here started to promote hard dance around the world with his record label and his own hard house productions. Dave was also resident till last year of Tinribs Super Fish night. In the last 10 years Dave has played in all four corners of the world, from the main stage at Dance Valley, to small clubs in Bombay to mega raves in South America and beyond. It is always a treat to have Dave back at the Melkweg, but tonight will be extra special as Dave is doing a classic set!!!

Tom Harding
Tom Harding, the dj, was born at HQ. There is not much we do not already know about Tom. We asked him for his best HQ memories, so we could find out why he loves HQ so much.

1. Best HQ ever
Having done about 97 of them, it is hard to pick out a favourite. I think my best ever, was right at the start of the HQ's. Random Access were playing live in the Old Hall and when they played my remix of Towers. I nearly wet myself with excitement. Great stuff..

2. Queensday
One Queensday part 1, I was persuaded to wear an orange hat for the duration of my set. I looked like a twat but was being patriotic. Anyway, I threw it in to the crowd as a momento, only to have it brought back to my hotel the next day as someone thought I had lost it. Slightly defeated the point really!

3. Another great HQ
Playing alongside Tony De Vit years ago. Was frankly in awe of the man and to play with him was a dream come true - will never forget that..

4. Another Queensday
When Billy Nasty was taken out on a boat all day and they managed to crash it and sink the thing, along with his records. When I arrived at HQ the back room of the club was full of people with hairdryers trying to dry them all out - genius.

DJ JP
JP is also one of the founders of HQ.He has been involed since day 1. We asked JP how HQ was born and what thought about being involved in Europe's longest running dance night. After organising our own parties in various venues in Amsterdam, we moved into the Melkweg to do monthly events. Here we had the opportunity to bring the English sound which was lacking in Amsterdam, in cooperation with dj Paul Jay. We were able to bring some of the hottest dj/producers from the other side of the channel to Amsterdam. This, together with our own local heroes, gave us the sound of HQ. Later we were able to do both rooms in the Melkweg and devided the sounds into two different areas; one techno and house and the other (the max hall) saw the birth of UK hard house in Amsterdam. This sound never left us. Put this together with one of the most energetic crowds on the dance floor in history of house music, and you will have HQ as it is today. Unchanged but still upfront. It has been an honour and a privelidge to be able to play with all these foreign dj's and to be part of one of the finest organisations in Holland. See you all in the next 100 HQ's!
