So when you die, you do absolutely nothing but rest in the coffin? That's impossible to believe. See, there's a pre-life, where you're in your mother's uterus, so why can't there by a post-life - explain that to me juniors? Would all of you non-believers want to die with an end, or would you want to have eternal life in the post-life? Of course you would prefer the 2nd option. There's a post-life and it's a fact. |
STFU with your religious brainwashing mumbo jumbo cuz no one wants to hear it |

FYI, if you're looking for a debate, then the political/debate forum would be better, but we can always hash this out here...

Well, you actually rot and decompose - but that's another topic altogether. In what way is it impossible to believe?
| quote: | | See, there's a pre-life, where you're in your mother's uterus |
In what way is this period a 'pre life'? You're certainly not fully human, but you're still alive.

Oh, there can be - it's just that there isn't any evidence that there is one. If you've got some evidence, i'd certainly love to see it.
| quote: | | Would all of you non-believers want to die with an end, or would you want to have eternal life in the post-life? |
Yes, of course I would. Unfortunately, wanting something doesn't make it so.
By the way, are you including the billions of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs & Jews in your 'non-believer' category? Because I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of them are happily awaiting their afterlives with their respective deitys.
| quote: | | There's a post-life and it's a fact. |
Then perhaps you'd be so kind as to present some evidence, instead of merely asserting it in a loud voice? |

Quit these stupid remarks. If you don't want to hear it, who's stopping you?

My bad. I mis-typed it. Yeah, I already know your physical body rots and decomposes, but that has nothing to do with Christianity and religion in general. What relates to Christianity is that your spirit leaves it and goes to heaven or hell.
| quote: | In what way is this period a 'pre life'? You're certainly not fully human, but you're still alive.
|
Actually it is a pre-life. If you were taught in health or science class in school, you would know it is. You don't use the "pre-life" term, but you know what birth is right? It's when you're actually living in the real world.
| quote: | Oh, there can be - it's just that there isn't any evidence that there is one. If you've got some evidence, i'd certainly love to see it.
| It's all about faith. If you believed in Christianity, you would strongly believe that there is a post-life. Evidence? The bible. No, the bible is not a mythical book, just for your information.

That doesn't apply to everything which includes post-life.

|
No, I'm not including them, because I obviously don't know their belief, and I never created a category of non believers. I'm solely basing my argument on Christianity. |

Yes, i'm well aware of the core tennents of orthodox Christianity. I think that they're utterly wrong, but I still know what they are. ;)

Either you're alive in the womb or you aren't - it's a simple concept to understand. My contention is that you are alive in the womb, and as such - the term 'pre life' is not applicible. If you modiy your terminology i'm sure that we could come to some kind of agreement on this particular point.

Here's the crux of the issue - faith is a incoherent concept that should be rejected. Faith is nothing more than believing something when you don't have any evidence to back it up - and it's situations like that when you should not believe something. Faith is the antithesis orf reason, logic and truth.
And yes, the bible is a mythical book. A myth is defined as:
- 1. A traditional, typically ancient story dealing with supernatural beings, ancestors, or heroes that serves as a fundamental type in the worldview of a people, as by explaining aspects of the natural world or delineating the psychology, customs, or ideals of society: the myth of Eros and Psyche; a creation myth."
As such, the bible is a mythical book.
| quote: | | That doesn't apply to everything which includes post-life. |
Actually, it applies to everything. Again, wanting something doesn't make it so. I may want to be reincatned as a flying hog when I die, but it isn't going to happen simply because I want it to.

But they are non-believers in the sense that they reject Christianity for their own world view. So why aren't they non-believers by definition? I contend that they are. |

Honestly, I don't care what you say. I strongly believe in Christianity and where I'll go once I die, 'nuff said. |

So you aren't willing to critically examine your beliefs then? In other words, you don't care whether what you believe is true or not. Ah well, fine by me... |

Oh my in gosh. Don't even try and question my beliefs bitch. Everything you're saying is wrong while everything I'm saying is right due to the fact that I believe in my religion. I'm not in the transition stage of believing in my religion or examining my belief or anything like that. Know what you're typing before posting your bull. |

why are you examining the beliefs (or lack of beliefs) of other people by posting then? |
