It depends, in my opinion what brings wars (apart from f*ckded up humans n power) is the differences among us human beings ...
If it was prove there is no god , if no one believed in a god we would all be more homogeneos (less differences = less conflicts)
It would be the same as if we all believed in the very same religion.
But this is just theory .. i dunno how would it work in reallity.
Not being religious or not beliving in a God doesn't mean that u dont't have a moral or ethics ! |

I believe it to be the opposite actually.. I see religion as what is wrong with the world, actually...
Examples:
War in the middle east
the crusaides
the spanish inquisition
9/11
hitler's oppresion of the jews (WW II)
need I go on? However, if there is one good thing about religion it is that it gives people comfort (even if it is false) and pursaides them to do the right thing (even if they believe the right thing is to kill someone).
Of course not all wars were started over religion.. Civil War, vietnam, the Iraq wars, etc etc... But one can not help to wonder if they would of happened if religion had not come to be..

Almost every one of your examples is because of human selfishness and corruption. Hitler didn't have anything to do with religion, and the war in the middle east is the exception. Each event was connected to religion, but was not caused by religion. That is like saying trance is bad because some people who like it do drugs at the clubs where it is played. It doesn't work..

not exactly.. I did give a few GOOD things about religion.. I believe I gave a reasonably good philosophical argument.. I explained both sides and gave my examples of the side I was on.. |
