Yes, MARK WAS HARD AS . never heard him this harsh. shades of mauro style. i wish mark played some crazy jumping tech tunes more often during his resident nights. His skills make the difference!

WOW, hear about an hour of mark due to being at zone all day, so i was nice and ready go when i got there. PVD came on and from there to the end of his set i was off the ceilinf all night, absolutly sick!!!!!!! Good to have my buddy nels back from ibiza as well, always that much more fun to party with get me going. Than when Mark Olver came on after PVD I lost my lid, it was insane, i can still hear the banging and its tues!!!! Your trance is awsome as well, but keep the hard stuff comming once in a while, just wheni thought it was time to sit down hell no, all over th map.

What an unbelieveable night!
Everything seemed to come together all at once and before I knew it, I was experiencing the most sensational DJ ever. PVD opened so hard, and as soon as everyone was jumping, he began his mixing clinic. No other DJ can do what PVD does. He was absolutly brilliant with the entire set.
Mark Oliver played very well, and after a full weekend of spinning, he rocked the closing set and kept the KH packed.
It was amazing to see so many TAs....we ran that joint....

Durafei: I guess you seem to catch me on the wrong nights. Sometimes, I'll play a few hours of trance to end a night. Other times I'll bang it out a bit more to maintain high energy in the room. The Thanksgiving party was never advertised as a "Trance" night even though PVD and I both play that style. Personally, I feel that 9 hours of any one particular sound becomes monotonous and I know many people who feel that 9 consecutive songs within the same style can lead to boredom. Then again, said people have the attention spans of squirrels.
If PVD had played the full 9 hours alone, I'm sure he would throw much more than trance into the mix. Even within his 3 hour set on Sunday, he seemed to explore sounds other than traditional trance.
I could always play the same sound as the guest before me, but that's just not me. If you like hearing an early morning trance set from me, it would probably be best if you came on a night when I have a non-trance guest DJ playing beforehand or perhaps on a night when I'm flying solo.

For those asking about the technical aspects of Paul's set, 80% of it was played on Final Scratch and the rest on the CDJ 1000s. I didn't see him with any vinyl; although, he may have played some while I was hiding backstage so that he would HAVE to play longer than his scheduled 2.5 hours. I must say it looks like Final Scratch is here to stay and I've never heard it sound so good. Then again, the music was coming straight from PVD's laptop rather than my friend's downloaded files!
It was great to see everyone having a blast over the anniversary weekend. Thank you all for showing the BIG BOYS what a strong scene we have. Both Armin and Paul were well-impressed and look forward to returning ASAP. |
Mark you never dissapoint me, i am there every saturday night also, but i love your style you always have something diffrent, you are right playing the same songs getting annoying, like some variety.

| Paul seemed so into his set, but i guess 3 hrs he wanted it to sound perfect. but it shows dedication and passion to what he does. All in all i had an awesome night!!!!!!!!!! |

| Unfortunately, I missed the pre-meet because I didn't drive this time, but I made it to a kick-ass night! :D This time I was a little less lost than I was at Labour of Love, but until 1am I was wandering back and forth between Guvernment and Kool Haus, not sure exactly who I was listening to, but enjoying it nonetheless. When I finally got my bearings and wandered back to Kool Haus for PvD's set, he absolutely destroyed me! (but in a good way :D) Deep Dish was awesome as well, but I was so drained after Paul's set that I could barely do anything besides nod my head... Shout out to Nat--I was impressed that you remembered me from Labour of Love! :) I also saw dallas, j_spot, DigiNut, and StereoPrincess, but I wasn't sure if they remembered me (which is ok, 'cuz I wouldn't remember me either :p) I also saw minimini, but I know she wouldn't remember me because she hasn't met me before. :tongue3 Ok, I've used up my -5 minutes of free time...back to staring blankly at my quantum mechanics homework. :nervous: |

This weekend didn't disappoint at all. PVD was amazing as was Mark, especially at the end of the nite. It was hard to keep my body moving after dancing both nites, but I tried my best.
Andrea and Steve: It was great meeting up with you again! (and glad we could help you out at the door!) Thanks for sharing the space at the front and dancing up a storm with us!
It was great to meet some of the TA's before and at the show. Hopefully we'll be able to meet more of you next time. Thanks to all of you the energy and love in the room on Sunday was out of this world. |
